Hey [Bm] folks, how you doing?
Andy with you taking a look at the very cute miss Taylor Swift's our
Song good stuff plenty [B] of open chords.
Nothing too tricky.
No [Em] capo or anything like that for this [G] one
So let's dig into it lots of common chords
I'll run through them so [Gb] you know what you need to know to start with let's [F] zoom on in and see what's going on [E] in here
We've got D
[D] E minor
[Em] G
[A] A
We've also got
That's it
Very straight ahead.
I thought there was [B] more in there.
That's it.
Okay, so here is our verse we've got
[D] D [Em] E minor [G] G
[A] I
And we've got this cool little
Little shuffle groove that's going [B] on so I'll run through that and then [D] I'll break it down for you
[Em] [G]
[A] [D] [Em]
[G] [A] [N] There's lots of little details going on in there that
[G] That take some time to get going because of the muting that's involved in here
So I'll show you the strumming
But [N] it's gonna take a little bit to get this this groove going to start with if you haven't done a lot of rhythm work
Before so basically what we've got is it's two two chords per bar so we get two beats [D] for each of these chords
So we get D
So I'm gonna get bass bass strum [A] and then on the E minor [Em] down up down down
[D] [Em]
Just get that going [F] to start with on those two chords
[D] And then you can apply it to the others that follow after that [Em]
[D] [Em]
then the same thing for [G] the G to A
[A] [D] So you've got to be keeping in mind
What is the bass [G] note for each of these [D] chords in other words the lowest note in the chord so D?
D chord as a D is the lowest note
[Em] [G] And for the G chord you're playing from the F at a string up there
[A]
[N] That's our main groove, and it's really important to get that because that runs through the verse and the chorus
So there's you know two-thirds of the song already so definitely worth paying a bit of attention to that so the little
[D] Kind of silencing those those notes in between is really important kind of muting that before you get to the next drum
[Em] [A] Was little things going [Db] on all right, so what happens after that?
We've got our verse and our chorus the end of the chorus [G] has G
[A] I
[E] Mean minor
[D] [G]
[Bb] So what do we got [B] there after the a minor?
[D] We've got an interesting little chord you can do it as just a D
But [Bm] what it actually [Db] is it's a D with an F sharp bass
[D]
[B] So there's two ways you can do [Db] this you can play your D, and then bring your thumb over [Gb] the top
[D] You can do a little sneaky cheeky way
Which is going to be take these first and second fingers and move them up
How many strings we got there three strings so moving up to the actually no don't follow that that was a lie
You're gonna [Eb] move your first finger up the top a string there on the second fret and then your second finger is going to be
on the G string second [D] fret
So you're [A] actually you're still missing out that bottom a string there.
This would be a
Dsus2 with an F sharp big names don't matter as long as we got the chord hey
That's the important [D] thing and [G] then G after that so that section was
[A]
[Em] [G]
So G [A] I [Em] D minor
There's [D] our little funky
D with the F [G] sharp G, and that's gonna be [B] slightly different the second time we play [A] through it is [G] going to be G
[A] Hi
[Em] D minor
[D] [G] D G
[A]
Hi
[Ab] So we got a little [D] extra in there the second time through [Bbm] what's going on [A] underneath the solo.
[D] We've got D
[Em] D minor
[G] G
[A] Hi [B] same as your verse in your course that on the end [A] of it.
We got two little extra bars there, which will sound [D] like
[Em] [G] [A] G I
Three oh
So two little extra beats there to keep you rolling
After that another chorus few little [G] stabs in there which you can listen out for then at the very end of the [D] song
[Em]
[G] [D] Just D.
E [G] minor G
It's that standard progression that we're doing, but it's ending just ringing out on the G
so
[A] There it is for you a few little things to have a listen out for
getting those mutes and all that sort of thing which takes a little bit of developing and
As well as that [Bb] listening out for the little stabs and hits [B] those little little tiny [A] variables
I change around just to make [B] things interesting, but you got all the [Gb] contents there to guide you through
You can always go back and watch it again as
