Hello.
[C] Alright, here we go.
Tutorial [F#] for slide away with the capo on the fourth fret the
way [G] Noel does it acoustically.
A lot of [G#m] people asking for this one so finally.
New plectrum,
like it.
Right, let's get into it.
[G#] So I'll show you [G#m] the sort of verse, bridge and chorus.
It's really all there is, three little bits in this song.
The first part, the verse, chords
you'll need, four of them.
E minor 7.
Alright, so that fourth finger, all the chords will
have this fourth finger on the third fret, second string.
E minor 7 is the first chord.
The next chord is just releasing the fourth string.
So make that one, whatever it is.
[G#] Next chord is [G#] just pulling that second finger down to the third string [C#] on the same fret,
second fret.
Make a, I think it's an A sus 4.
Correct me if [G#] I'm wrong.
All you smart
[G] asses who know the chords, put the right ones [C#] down below, alright.
A sus 4 [G#m] to a C add 9.
Alright, so the first two chords you're playing the whole, all six strings.
Second two chords
you're playing just from the A [C#] downwards.
[F#] [G#m] So it sounds like this.
[C#] [G#m]
[G#] [G#m]
I'm just going down,
down, down, down, up, down, down, [C#] down, down, up, down, down, down, down, up, down, down,
down, down, up.
Alright, whatever you like.
And that just carries through [G#m] the verse.
Slide [G#] away, give [G#m] it all you got.
Like today, [C#]
fell in [G#m] from the top.
Dream of you, [G#]
and all the
[G#m] things you say.
Wonder where you are now.
[C#]
[G#m] Alright, carry on.
It's gotta be Liam's best vocal
performance in this song don't you reckon?
Right, so that [G#] keeps up until you get to the
slide in baby bit, the bridge.
For that part you're just [C#] going to be going between the [F#] A sus 4 and C
add 9 basically.
And before [C#] finishing on a, one of those, which [C#m] again I'm not sure, I think it's
still [G#] an A sus 4 but it's like [G#m] [C#] from the A open, second, second, third, open.
Alright, so it goes.
[F#] Slide in baby, [C#] together [F#] we'll fly.
I tried praying, [C#] but I don't know what you're saying to me.
[G#]
If you don't want to play that, you can just play that, like [G#] without playing the third string if
you are.
I'm not quite sure how [C#m] Noel does it, I think he probably does it both ways, but please just.
[C#] Okay, to the chorus.
[B] Now that you're mine.
Right, so G, [G#m]
[F#] to a D, [G#m] to a C add 9 for the first part.
Then to an E
minor 7, [F#]
to a D, [G] [C#] to that A minor, what is it, A sus 4 thingy again, [F#] to the C add 9.
Alright, so it goes.
[B] Now that you're mine, we'll find [F#] a way, to do what [G#m] we've done.
Let me be the one, that [F#] shines with you.
[C#] In the morning, we don't [F#] know what to do.
We're too [B] of the kind, repeat that.
We'll [F#] find a way, to do [G#m] what we've done.
[E]
Oh, [G#m] let me be the one, that [F#] shines with you.
We can [G#m] slide away.
C add [C#] 9, back to those ones again.
[F#] Between those two, [C#]
A sus 4, C add [F#] 9.
[C#]
Coming out of that [F#] to a D, and then to a [D#] B7, [G#m] back into your main riff again.
[C#]
[G#m] When [D#] you're coming out for that B7,
sometimes it's tricky [G#m] to get from the B7 straight back to the E minor 7.
You can do it, but if you don't, just play a regular E minor.
Release the 4th, then [C#] come back for your A sus 4, [G#m] and you can go back into the [G#] regular chords.
[G#m] Alright, so just one [Fm] more time with that chorus, I know, because there's a few [B] chord changes.
G, we'll [F#] find a way, D, to do what [E] we've done.
C add 9,
[G#m] D minor 7, [C#]
A sus 4, the other A sus 4, [F#] C add 9, [B]
D, [F#] D [G#m]
add 9, D minor 7,
Oh, let me be the one that shines [F#] with you.
D, we can [C#] slide away.
A sus [F#] 4, C add 9, slide [C#] away.
A sus 4, [F#] C add 9, away.
D, [D#] B7.
[G#m]
Right at the [F#] end, Noel goes into that, I [G#m] don't know, I don't care, all I know is you can take me [F#] there if you want.
That's just going between the C [C#] add 9 and the A sus 4.
Don't know, I [C#] don't care, all I know is you can take [F#] me there.
I don't know, I [C#] don't care, all I know is you can take me [F#] there.
I don't know, I [C#] don't care, all I know is you can take me there.
So on [E] and so on.
[G#m] And finishing on a D minor 7, generally I think.
So, slide away.
Great song and pretty easy if you break it down like that.
