So if you really think about it, there's about a couple trillion saxophone players
in the world.
And if you notice, about 99 .999999% of them are all trash.
Luckily that's where I step in.
I'll save all of you.
Now one of the most important traits that you can have as a professional ultimate grandmaster
expert super advanced saxophonist, you need to be able to call out players when they're bad.
So before I demonstrate my mastery, how about we just go ahead and browse the internet and
critique some saxophone players.
Okay, so this one's called Kim by Kaharley Pargeer.
Best alto sax solo.
We'll be the judge of that.
Okay, let's start.
[Db]
[Am] [Db] [Dm]
[Gm] [F]
[Gm] [Eb] [Ab]
[Eb] [N] I have to stop there.
So obviously this guy, Kaharley, has no idea what he's doing.
He's just playing random notes.
That's all jazz is, just a bunch of wrong notes compiled together.
He's not even playing truly to the style.
If you want to play jazz, you have to scoop as much as possible.
He's just pressing a bunch of buttons and calling it jazz.
This makes no sense.
This is terrible.
Next example, Valentin Kovalev.
Anyway, [F]
[C] hold [F] [C] [F]
[Dm] [E]
[Am]
[Dm] [G] on.
So [N] this guy's clear noob.
He was so afraid to slur these notes because he has no idea what he's doing on the saxophone
that he decides to tongue it all to make it easier.
I guess slurring is just too hard for some people.
That just says enough.
Moving on.
Who is this Ryan Devlin guy?
Let me check out this clip right [Ab] here.
[Bb] [Bbm] [G] [C]
[C] [F] [E] [F]
[Bm] [G]
[C]
[Bb] [F] [C]
[N]
[Am] [Gb] [Cm] [B]
[N] God!
Well, one, if you look at his saxophone, he has a silver neck and a gold saxophone.
This guy doesn't even have his colors together.
You can't play saxophone if it's not the same color.
And his mouthpiece is literally a sock.
This guy clearly was steered the wrong direction.
And all those notes he played were just random.
Here you try it.
Press a bunch of random notes on your saxophone and you're going to sound exactly like this.
I would assume this guy's been playing for about a month or two.
It's okay.
That's why I'm making this YouTube tutorial.
Now let me enlighten you guys with a real tutorial because YouTube doesn't have enough of them.
Let me go ahead and get my saxophone.
Okay, so I have my saxophone out.
Now if you zip it open and then you open it, boom!
Everything should be nice and ordered like this.
So you go ahead and pick up your saxophone and you pick up the neck.
This is called a neck.
You put it on like this.
And you screw this little screw here.
Next, you want to get out your reeds.
Your reed case.
And a ligature.
And you also want to get your neck strap.
Put it over your neck.
Now here's something really serious.
You need to have a gold ligature because gold is the most expert, advanced type of ligature
you could possibly have.
If you don't have gold, you're not fine.
Blows my mind that the Ryan Devlin guy is using a silver neck.
Okay, you take a reed out of your choice.
Okay, after you do that, you have to moisten it.
Okay, now it's ready.
Now you take your super advanced expert mastered ligature and then you take your mouthpiece,
put your reed on, then you put your expert gold ligature on.
Get it on there.
And here's one really important tip.
You notice actually all the saxophone players had their mouthpiece on in the wrong direction.
Typical rookie mistake everyone seems to make.
But luckily I'm here to save everyone.
So you put your neck strap on the saxophone and you're actually going to put on the mouthpiece like this.
Put that sucker on and you're going to put your front teeth on the reed like that.
Okay, and now you just give it a little blow.
Oh my god, immediate butter.
So to play the saxophone expertly, you play some notes and there you have it.
Now the rest of it, you have to just bring out your inner genius.
I mean, not all of you can be geniuses.
Like I said, 99 .99999999% of saxophones are bad.
So this will give you off to a great start.
And if you want the rest of this tutorial, I will make a course and you have to pay $1,000 per second.
So that's just what it takes to become a professional in this world.
So that's just up to you if you want to make that sacrifice or not.
Hopefully you'll achieve the super grandmaster ultimate advanced expert saxophonist.
Thank you for watching my tutorial.
Well, no, not thank you.
You should be thanking me.
