"Crazy Train" - Ozzy Osbourne - Guitar Lesson #4 as demonstrated by Chelsea Constable chords
Start Jamming...
Hey, this is Chelsea Constable, and this is the solo lesson series today
We're going to review the solo to crazy train
Randy Rhodes was a huge influence on me my playing and even influenced the type of guitar
I play a Gibson Les Paul custom I read in a guitar [E] magazine where Max Norman producer both Blizzard of Oz and diary of a
Madman albums said that Randy was the best guy at overdubbing and tracking solos he had ever seen
So we're going to try to duplicate that here today
I've recreated a backing track here one guitar is for the tremolo the bar dives
The second guitar is just an overdub and the third guitar is going to be live
And then I'll break it down into quick and easy sections.
Let's go ahead and get tuned up
The song is in standard.
Here's an a or open fifth string to tune [A] to
[G]
[Em] [F#m] [D]
[B] [F#]
[Em] [D] [C#m] [Bm]
[F#m]
[E] [D] [C#m] [B] [F#m]
[D] [G] [A] [F#]
[G] [N] Okay, here's the first section of the solo.
It's going to begin with tapping
It's going to double tap on the 14th fret second string
Pull off to the 10th and pull off to the 7th and then [F#m] hammer on so it sounds something like this
[A]
Then you're going to [D#m] move up [D#] shift up to the 15th fret [G#] second string and do the same [E] exact thing still leave in your
left hand same position
[D] [F#m]
So together it sounds like this slow
Then [D]
[A]
[A#] when you do your last hammer on you're going to slide up to the 9th fret second string and trill
[G#m] but [G#]
since I don't have a tremolo bar [E] what I like to do is
Grab the second string with my right hand and bend up to kind of duplicate what the bar is doing
[Am]
There's
[A]
[E] the next section
[F#]
[Em] [F#m]
[Am] Okay, we're going to start at the first string 17th fret
[G#]
[D]
[Em] [F#m]
[Gm] [C#]
[B] [A]
So what you're going to do is begin on the first string [E] 14th fret
[B] Pick it
then pull off from the 17th fret first string to the 14th fret first string, so
Then go down to the second string [F#] 17th fret pick that
[E] Come [Em] back up to the first [Bm] string 14th fret [E] then go back down to the second string 17th fret
Then you're going to [B] pull off twice from the 15th fret second string
[D] [G]
[D#] Then you're going to go [C] down to the third string 17th fret
Back up to [G#] the second string [F#] 14
Then
[D#] from the third string [G] 17 you're going to pull off to the 16th and [C] then 14
[A] Then [C] you're going to come up and do a full bend
[C#m] and you're going to catch the second [F#] string 17th fret with your [Am] pinky and
[F#]
This is [N] where Randy does a real quick bar dive, but it again.
I don't have a bar on this guitar, so
What I'm going to do is bend the third string
[C] So at the 16th fret really fast
[A#] [A] Then
[E] you'll come back down on the third string 14th [C] fret and vibrato
[A#]
So [F#m] the whole riff sounds like this slow
[D] [C#]
[Bm] [A]
[F#]
Okay, the next section
There's
[D] [E]
[D] [B] [G#]
[E] [D]
[G#] the next [Gm] section
[F#] [B]
[F#m]
[A] [Bm]
Hope [D#] [E]
[F#] [G#] [A] [B] [A] [B] [A] [Dm]
[F#] [B] [D] [A]
[G] [Bm] [A#m] [D]
[B] you've enjoyed this lesson.
