[Fm] Essentially what our mindset was when we [Ab] walked in here was let's make a record
that's [Eb] bluesy, back to basics, back to what I do, [Db] what I used to do as a kid, my
[F] early career [Fm] type of records we would make, but [Ab] just you know update that.
[Eb]
[Ab] [Db] [Fm]
[Ab] [Eb]
[Db] [F]
[Fm] [Ab] [Eb]
[Db] I think it's a very [Fm] good Joe album.
It's been interesting in the challenge and
[Ab] it's a [Eb] balanced album.
There's a bit of everything.
There's an extension of
Dust Bowl [Db] certainly and then we've taken [Fm] a couple of really traditional old blues
songs, [Ab] a Howlin' Wolf song, a Robert Johnson song, [Eb]
and we've sort of tried to [Am] [Db] imagine
[A] how they would do them in a rock context.
I got stones in my left wing and my road seems dark as night.
This is definitely [D] more influenced by the stuff that guys and musicians in this room, the stuff we all kind of love.
[A] I thought earlier in the 60s English and American rock and blues kind of approach.
I guess we'll never get that out of our system and it's fun to come in here and
kind of find our own path down that [Gbm]
[A] highway.
[D] I have a bird to whistle and I have a bird to sing.
[A] [A]
But it's just so much fun to play this kind of stuff.
All these guys have such a feel for it.
Perfect.
Makes absolute, complete, perfect sound.
It's going to be a [Gb] very exciting [Bm] return to the blues and in a very visceral way.
It's vibrant and it's [B] gutsy and it's really, really [Bm] rugged.
[B] [Bm]
It's been 15 years since I made my first record, a solo record.
It's just been a long journey and I think at this point in my life that it's been [Bm] an enjoyable experience.
I've enjoyed this record very much so, totally.
[Db] I've enjoyed the music [F] and I've enjoyed the company.
I've [Ab] enjoyed working here in Vegas and I've really [Eb] enjoyed having the opportunity to basically get back to [Db] my childhood and [Ab] just [Fm] make it roots again.
[Ab]
[Eb] [Db]
That was wicked.
