Chords for 'Escape' (main riff) | Kilgore Doubtfire | Full Tutorial

This is going to [Db] be a quick
tutorial on [F] how to play the main [F] riff from Escape [Bbm] by Killgoat Downfire.
[Ab] If you haven't checked out
the full piano piece I definitely recommend [Bb] it.
It's an amazing [G] piece of music and I've put [Bbm] a
couple of the artists linked in the description.
So I'm not in my [Eb] normal studio setup today as you
[C] can obviously [Db] see but this tutorial [Ab] will be just like all the others.
I'm just doing a little bit
of [A] traveling to see some family this Christmas and I hope you're all having an [E] amazing Christmas
as well.
So without further ado [C] let's go.

[Bb] So we'll go through a section at a time.
The first section
looks like [Gb] this. _
[Gbm] _ _ _ _ _ _ [B] _ _
_ Start with the [G] right hand.
So this E flat and we're going to _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
make sure to hit
that G sharp with the third finger.
So [Fm] starting with the third finger on both [Ab] of those notes. _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Eb] Okay then we go down like this. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Eb] _ _ Three, four, _ _ _ _ _ like [Ab] that.
Okay so one last time really slow
[G] _ _ _ [Abm] _
_ _ _ _ and then we basically just repeat that an octave lower.
So we just hit this E flat and we go down
again _ [Ab]
with [Eb] _ _ _ _ _ the left [Gb] hand starting here octave F sharp.
We just go [A] to this chord _ _ and we go to
this other inversion of it and then final inversion [Gb] and _ _ [A] _ _ _ _
I'm holding the pedal down for
this whole section.
_ [Gbm] _
_ [A] _ _ _ Okay so every time you hit these chords in the left hand is when you want
to hit either the E [Eb] flat or the A flat.
_ _ [Gb] _ _ _ [A] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [B] _
_ [G] Okay so even [Gb] slower. _ _ _
[Dbm] _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [B] _ _ _ _ _
[Gb] _ [Db] _ _ _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ [B] _ _ [Ab] Make sure you just practice.
Make sure you're hitting those with the third [Eb] finger every time.

_ [Eb] _ _ Okay that last one doesn't matter so much because we're holding it anyway.
[B] Then we've hit these
hit these notes we've gone [Eb] from _ and this is the next section.
_ _ _ [Gbm] _ _
_ _ _ The left hand's going _ _ _ _ _ _ on up, _ _ _ right hand [Eb] playing these two [B] notes.
_ _ [Gbm] _ _ _
Then we hold down this C sharp and hit these notes [Abm] in the right hand and left hand.
_ _ _ _ [B] _ _
_ [Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ [Gb] Then octave on the F sharp. _ _ _ _ _
[Gbm] _ _ Okay so that section again [Gb] and [Gbm] _
_ [Ab] _ _ _ [Gbm] _ you can hold the pedal again [B] through that whole thing. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Ab] The next section looks [A] very similar. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [Eb] _
_ So the [G] right hand's actually doing the exact same thing as the
first one.
Left hand [A] starting with opposite the A and the E _ [A] and we do the same thing going up
these inversions of the A major.
Okay so a bit slower _ _ _ _ _ and _ [Dbm] _ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _ _
the final [Db] section we'll just hit these
two notes [Ab] we got this. _
_ [Abm] _ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _
Okay so left hand, [Ab] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Gb] right hand playing [B] _ these two notes.
[Ab] _ _ [B] _ Then
we hit [Abm] these three notes holding down the B and then hitting _ _ these notes.

_ _ Finishing with octaves [Db] _ D flat.

_ [Db] And again hold the pedal through all of that.
