'Twas the night before Hanukkah chords
Start Jamming...
Hanukkah, the kids are having a great time.
It's a wonderful holiday and it commemorates the [Ab] first ever battle [N] for religious freedom.
It kind of fits right in here to West Point.
Well, you know, I can talk about it all day, but I have a little tiny book that I'd like to
And I also have a little Hanukkah helper hat.
Has anyone
Have you seen a Hanukkah helper?
A little bit of help here?
[Bb] [Dbm]
[Bb] [Eb] [Bb]
[Ab] It [Eb] was the night before [F] Hanukkah.
Boy chicks and [G] males, not a sound could be heard.
[Eb] The menorah [Bb]
[Cm] was grabbing a [Eb] bite.
Salami, pastrami, a glaze of latte, lots of kosher dill [G] pickles and bagels.
The [Eb] kindle lamp fell.
While dreaming of game boys and Hanukkah gals, my alarm clock was sitting o'clock and ticking.
And Bubby was carving a shtickle of chicken.
When a tumult arose, [D] like a thousand baruches, [G] Santa had fallen and broken his
glasses.
[Bm]
[Cm] [C] I put on my [Eb] slippers, eight spades [G] dry, while Bubby was [Gm] eating her herring on rye.
I grabbed for my [Eb] bathrobe and buttoned my goggles, [Bb] as Bubby [Abm] was just then devouring the latkes.
[Cm] Through the window I ran, and to my [Gm] surprise, a little [Em] red [Cm] yarmulke greeted my [Eb] eyes.
[D] When he got [Fm] through the door and he saw our [C] menorah, Yiddish shekinder, he cried, kina hora!
[Gm] I thought for a minute [C] I was in a strange hoist.
As [F] long as I'm here, I'll leave a few [C] toys.
He went to the kitchen and picked up a dish.
A gopel, a menthol, a shnickel, a [G] fish.
With smacks of delight, he started his spressen, chopped liver, [Bb] keneila, and keneila.
In [Eb] guessing along with his meal, he had a few [Bb] schnapps.
When it [Db] came to eat, this boy kid was stopped.
[D] He asked for some [Bb] dishes with pepper and salt, but they were so hot that he yelled, oy, [Fm] birbol!
He was [Gm] [Cm] poisoned [Bbm]
[A] [Ab] [Db]
[Gb] [Bbm] [Fm]
[B] [Eb] [G] as he ran from the kitchen.
[Bb] [D]
He ran from the door [Eb] and said, see you later.
I'll be [C] back on Pesach in [F] time for the [Bb] spader.
What happened in [B] Ithos was precious, they [Gm] came.
As he whistled [C] and shouted and called out,
[Bbm]
[D] He gave a geshrei [E] and he drove out a ss, and to [Cm]
[F] all a good [Gm] night, and remember, Hanukkah swings!
