[Ebm] Hello, we got a phone call yesterday from a gentleman who [D] asked why can't I change
my setup in the preset section of the style section.
That's to say he's loaded up a
country [G] style and played with the one touch settings on, but he doesn't like the first sound.
The sound that comes with the A button which in this case happens to be a piano.
He wanted a different sound instead, but the trouble was of course in the preset [N] section
you can't change anything.
It's always going to stay set in stone and by the way you can't delete
anything from the preset section either, so don't worry that's always going to be on there.
But what you can do is take any of the styles as a template and then alter things on it and save it
as a new style.
The way we do that is like this.
Now I'll use this particular style here as the
we were dealing with yesterday.
So I've got easy country and you'll hear that when I start playing
my [C] right hand voice is a piano.
[F] [G] [C] Okay, [G] but if I decided I wanted it to be something else then
this is what I do.
First thing is just choose the voice from the right hand side that I want it to
be.
So I'll go to [N] woodwind and I'll change it to clarinet just there.
The next step to start saving
this is press the memory button and then one touch setting number one.
Now you'll see why when
we go back to the screen now you'll see that written on here is OTS that stands for one touch
settings has been changed.
To keep the changes you must save the current style otherwise it'll all get
lost.
Okay now at this point if I press yes it's not going to override the original one in the
preset.
Remember that's always going to stay as Yamaha set it just when you got the keyboard out of
the box.
But when we press yes watch what happens at the top.
It goes over to this tab called user.
This is where you can save your own particular settings.
Down at the bottom of the screen
there's a button that says save and we press the lower number six button and it now prompts us to
give it a name and it's keeping the original name Easy Country number two but what I'm going to do
is delete the two and I'm going to put number three so I know it's my own custom one and when
I press ok it'll think about it just for a moment and then it'll save it preset in the user section.
Hang on in the style user section I should say Easy Country number three.
So when we've chosen
this the one touch setting is on over here on the left hand side but this time [D]
[C] the voice is a
clarinet.
[F] [G] [C] Okay [N] so we've taken an original style from the Yamaha Tyros preset section just change
something we've kept the original but we've made a duplicate for our own use and if I want to do
that again let's say with variation B go back onto the style section so I've gone into style
and in the user section just here now quite a nifty little button here down at the bottom
is called OTS info so on a Tyros 5 we press menu 2 and then go to OTS info press that and it'll show
you OTS information.
This is one touch setting information and this is showing you the voices
that play as I press A, B, C and D and you can see on the screen that it's changing when I press these
buttons.
So let's say we've changed to clarinet number one number two I want to change to
something else let's say we want to change it to a piano so what I do is come over to the voice
section choose a piano choose that nice upright piano and now this is the key this is the key
this bit here I press memory and then one touch setting number two now look at the screen again
here it's prompting me again it's saying okay I see you want to save something you want to change
something rather but if you want to keep it permanently you must save it that's what we're
doing here we press yes and it automatically saves onto the one I'm currently in so press save I don't
need to change the name because it's already called Easy Country 3 press ok and then it double
checks are you sure yes so what's going to happen now is in the style section in the user section
there's my custom style now safe in the preset section is the original styles nothing has
changed on there nothing's been deleted it's still on there but in the user section I've got my own
custom variation so Easy Country and now when [Ab] I play variation [C] A will give us
that clarinet that we like and B will give [F] us
[G] [C] the piano so it's that [N] straightforward to change
the preset section if you want to the preset is always going to remain the same but you can take
anything from there you can alter it slightly but the important thing to realize is there's a separate
section called user where you save your own settings there you go I hope you found that
[D] helpful remember you can give us a call or if you have any questions whatsoever just [Bb] leave
them in the comment section below thanks for watching bye
