We've had Bruce on this show once before [D] during the remote [G] broadcast and it was an absolute dream [C] to have him then.
I [Am] said it before and I'll say it now, Bruce has personally been a very important influence on me when I was first starting to get interested in old time music.
I ran across Bruce Molsky and I learned an awful lot from him and I just have a lifetime's worth of gratitude for everything that he taught me personally and [G] musically.
One of [E] the nice things about being in a musical festival, the Pickathon, it sounds like Bruce just threw [C] together a pickup band.
This configuration has never performed before together.
I think you can hear them practicing as we go.
Hey, let's see if they're ready to
Are they practicing?
Maybe we can just go right on into [G] there?
Maybe.
[C] I'm not sure.
I think we're
Yep.
Hey, um
Alright, you're on!
[G] Hi [Bb] there.
[Gm]
Would you like to [Bb] hear us really play?
[Bbm] Does this seem like a well-oiled [C] machine to you?

[G]
That was great.
[N] Well, folks, you're listening to the live remote broadcast here from the Pickathon.
We have the Bruce Molsky Band, and boy, is it an all-star band.
Bruce, why don't you
Would you introduce your band?
I mean, folks may not realize it, Tachyana is sitting right here playing with you and I think they'd like to know.
So happy to be here.
This was
[Ab] about for quite a [N] while and it resulted in this.
We've got Tachyana Hargraves on fiddle and vocal [C] and everything,
and we've got Jim [Bb] Miller, [A] who some of you might [G] recognize from Don of the Buffalo [Eb] Days and various other [Ab] projects.
Jim and I have been playing music together since [Gb] dinosaurs [A] were on the earth, but [G] not for a long time.
[Ab]
[F] And we've [E] also got
Lest we forget.
As you can see on my right, we've got Rashad Eggleston and his magnificent hanging cello.
[Em] And you might know him because he's played with Crooked Still and Fiddler's [G] Four,
and [F] he does a [Gb] whole lot of really cool solo things these [N] days, and Tornado Rider.
You know [Eb] what my official title is, Bruce?
What is it?
Prince [C] of Jik.
That's really cool, man.
[Fm] [Em] I'll never forget that.
[C] Honored to be representing in your country here, [E] man.
That's great, Will.
Bruce could [Em] have chose whoever he wanted to [Gm] have his rhythm section.
Of course.
Have these dudes in his band.
No, this was an opportunity.
I mean, this is really [Eb] great.
Do you guys have a band name?
Right now it's [Gm] the Bruce Molesky Band, and what you just heard was the [Gb] first time we've ever played anything for anybody besides ourselves.
All right.
That was [B] fabulous.
Well, play us another one that you've never [Em] played for anyone but
