So I'm going to show you how to use all these swing lines over a 1-4-5 progression.
Now remember, swing lines don't work over every chord.
So the swing line that we learned for the I chord is going to work with the I chord.
It's not going to work with the IV chord.
Why is that?
Well, the I chord swing lick is actually outlining the I chord.
So it's hitting all the target notes, all the notes that build that I chord.
Those notes are not necessarily all going to work with your IV or V chord.
You might get some clashing going on.
That's what makes the swing lines great, is that they're actually outlining the chords
you're playing over.
So you're really playing the changes by using these swing lines.
So what I'll do is I'll demonstrate all these swing lines.
One chord lick for the I chord, four chord lick for the IV chord, five chord lick for
the V chord.
And then once we've got them, I'll throw in some variations.
So let's pull up the track and try this out.
