Hey, what's up everybody?
So the other night I was watching VH1 and I came across this show they were doing.
It was the 100 best songs of the 80s.
So I watched the show and it was a pretty good list.
And I'm a big fan of 80s music so what I decided to do was to go over this entire list of 100 songs.
Not in one video, obviously that would take me a very long time.
But in a series of probably 10 videos or so, eventually I'll get to [Abm] all of them.
I'm [N] not going to do them all at once because I have to buy all the songs on iTunes and
that's like $100.
So I've bought 20.
So each video will probably be 10.
You know, it's not my own list but it gives me a chance to talk about music which I dig
and it's 80s music which I really dig.
So if you like it, cool.
If not, whatever.
But we'll get started now.
Alright, the [A] number 100 song on this list.
Now by the way, this list was made by the public.
So that's why [B] it's kind of suck.
Anyways, the [E] 100th song on the list is [B] from the band Loverboy off of CD Get Lucky which
came out in [F] 1981.
[B] It's Everybody's Working For The [F] Weekend.
[D]
Everybody's working for [G] the weekend.
[E]
[D] It's a [G] new romance.
[A] [D]
[G] I'm deep in.
[E]
[D] Everybody needs a [G] second chance.
Oh.
[E] Alright, number [Dm] 99 comes off the CD [E] Mosaic from 1986.
[A] This is Wang Chung [E] with Everybody [D] Have Fun Tonight.
[Dbm]
[A] [E] Everybody [E] have fun tonight.
[Dbm] Everybody [A] write songs tonight.
[Db] Alright, the number 98 song comes from Bobby Brown.
It's off of the Don't Be Cruel album which came out in 1988 and it is My Prerogative.
[Am] Everybody's talking [Abm]
all this about [D] me [A] now.
Now don't just [E] let me in.
[Am] I don't need [E] permission to make my own [Am] decisions.
That's my prerogative.
[E]
Alright, number 97 [A] on the list comes from the band The Romantics.
[A] It's off their self-titled album from 1980 and it is What I Like About You.
What I like [E] about [A] you.
[D] [A] You [E] hold me.
I eat.
[A]
[E] I [A] eat.
[D] Yeah.
[A] [B] Alright, the number 96 song which is a travesty that's at [A] 96.
This song should be [B] way higher on the list.
I'm [Em] talking way [B] higher.
Like top [A] 20 if not [Bm] top 10 song of the 80s.
I mean come on [A] people.
[B] It's from [G] Minute Work [A]
[B] off the [A] Business As Usual CD [B] which came out in 1982.
It is [A] Down Under.
[G] [A]
[B] Come on.
[A] Me and him [Bm] gave me breakfast.
[A] What you say?
You come from a land down [Bm] under.
[G] [D]
A land [A] low in the [B] number.
[D]
Can't [A] you hear the [Bm] thunder?
[G] [A]
You better run.
You better take [Bm] cover.
[N] Alright, the number 95 song comes from one Miss Debbie Gibson who's pretty hot now as Deborah Gibson.
It comes [Eb] off of the Out of the Blue album [Bbm] which came out in 87.
[Cm] Of course, It's Only in My Dreams.
[Eb] I'm in
[Db] my dreams.
[Ab] I'm thinking of [Eb] you.
[C] Alright, the number 94 song made a lot of people start doing this dance.
[G]
[Bb] Of course, it's the Rolling Stones.
[A] It came off of the [C] Tattoo You album which came out in [Bb] 1981.
It's Stop Me If
If [F] it's not me, [Bb] I'm not gonna stop.
[F]
[Bb] Alright, [N]
the number 93 song comes [Dm] from one bizarre Gary Newman.
It's off of [Am] the Pleasure Principle [Dm] which came out in 1987.
It [G] is Here in My Car.
Here in [A] my car, I [Db] feel [A] safest of all.
I can lock all my doors.
The only way to live [G] is in cars.
[Bb]
[D] Here [A] in my car, I can only receive.
I can listen to you.
It keeps me stable for life [G] in cars.
[Gb] [G] Alright, the number 92 comes from one of the boy bands of the 80s.
I'm sure [Ab] everyone in my generation had all the posters on the walls and had all the folders and all the toys.
It's the New Kids on the [Eb] Block off of the Hangin' [Cm] Tough album [Ab] from way back in 88.
It's You Got It.
The Right Stuff.
Those are [Bb] parentheses, [Cm] by the way.
[Bb]
You got [Ab] the right [D] stuff, [Ab] baby.
[Bb]
[Ab] Love the way you [Cm] turn me on.
[Bb]
[Ab] You got the right stuff, baby.
[Bb]
[Ab] The reason [Gb] why I sing this song.
[Bb]
[A] The number 91 song, which is the last for this video, is from Katrina and the Waves.
It [G] came off their [F] self-titled album from [Bb] 1985.
It's Walking on [F] Sunshine.
[Eb] I'm walking on [Dm] sunshine.
We're [Eb] walking [F] on sunshine.
[Eb] We're walking [F] on sunshine.
[Eb] Alright, so there you go.
[F] There's number 100 through [Bb] 91.
[Eb]
[Bb] I [Eb] guess I agree with [Bb] the list for the most part.
[Eb] I don't know.
I [C] may have put Loverboy's song higher, [Fm] Lamechunk's song higher.
[C] And the Minute Work song down under needs to be way higher than that.
It's one of the best known [Eb] songs of [F] the 80s.
But [Bb] anyway, that's [Ab] what happens when you do stuff by the public.
They have no idea what they're talking about.
[Bb] So, stay [C] tuned.
Number 90 through 81 will be coming up [F] shortly.
If not [Cm] right now, it may [Gm] already be up.
Because I'm probably going to do it right now.
So, [Eb] [Dm] until next time.
Peace.
