Hi, today I have a nice guitar here, which is this one.
As you can see, it is a National Resonator guitar, a Style O, similar to the one that
Mark Knopfler [Bbm] has and which [D] is shown on the album of Brothers in Arms.
This one is a shiny metal guitar, which looks like new, but in fact it's not new, but from 1932.
So here we have a guitar that is exactly 80 years old.
The Nationals from the early 30s, they are the so-called 12th fret models, because here
you can see this is the 12th fret and the body joins the neck here at the 12th fret.
[Fm]
If you look [N] at here the other one, then you see here the 12th fret and the body joins
the neck at the 14th fret.
So we have a 14th fret model here.
[Bb] This results in a different body shape.
The body looks different.
[Bbm] And here [N] we have
[Bb] [N]
Both guitars have a Hawaiian scene on the back, which is sand-edged.
And you see, both have volcanoes and a palm tree and the canoe.
They are different.
I think there were seven or eight different variations in this Hawaiian scene.

[Eb] [Bb]

[G] [Bb] And let's hear this one.
You can hear, the other one sounds a little bit crisper and brighter and this has more
bass and a more mellow tone.
