If I fall asleep tonight, it's because I love Scott's playing.
When I was a kid
What if they all fall asleep?
When I was three or four years old,
I'd sit in a chair, I'd sit on his lap.
People would come, they would play, and the first thing he'd say,
I would give my reviews and I'd help out.
I was always asleep before Scott finished, and it was because I [B] loved him.
You were certainly a quiet audience member.
[A] For you.
For me, yeah.
Here we have a 1958 Miguel Rodriguez.
This is another Spanish Cypress.
The story behind this guitar is
This was my father's first
A lady named Henrietta, she asked him what he wanted.
He took this guitar, he made his first two
His first two CDs.
When he was 15, he
That's the actual guitar.
When he was 18, he
He went on to record
On my 15th birthday

That Pepe Sr.
had recorded the [N] Flamenco Phenomenon
recording on this guitar, I was floored,
because that was just one of my go-to albums.
I remember driving out here, actually, from
From Michigan, out to USC.
And all I listened to the whole way was
Paco de Lucia and Pepe Romero.
And those two, actually, those two recordings
Were part of my listening.

[E] Okay, [E] so
One of the points that [Gb] Pepe here [Db] made is that
This was meant to be [Bb] a classical guitar as well,
as a flamenco crossover.
[A] So, I'm going to play something classical on it.
I'm going to play a piece by Albanes.
Rumores de la Caleta.
[E] And then we'll have a little surprise
[Bb] A surprise performance by
[E]
[A] [Bb] He's here in this box.

I [A] obviously didn't want to follow [Ab] that, okay?
So I'm going to play [Gb] first.
So you'll see why.
It's going to be very obvious why I'm [E] playing first.
