Hello, this is Paul Hummeler of Dream Guitars,
and I always enjoy it when we get in a Wayne Henderson instrument.
Wayne is just a great guy.
Many of you have heard of him and maybe know of his reputation
as just being a player, a musician first,
and a great guitar maker who just loves
whittling wood and making guitars for other musicians
to play and put more [C#m] music out there in the world.
He gives away a lot of guitars at his contests,
[F#] so great young players get a chance
to own something like this.
Presley Barker was here recently,
and you might have seen his guitar in our video
that we did with him on our 6-String Dreamer series,
so check that out.
This is a Wayne Henderson D-28 from 2006,
built for a local gentleman that lives not far from here, who
unfortunately just can't play any longer,
so he wants us to find a new home for this baby.
And it's a sweetheart.
Brazilian rosewood, Appalachian spruce,
just everything quintessential Wayne Henderson,
including the tone.
Just really, really lovely.
Great condition, just a few little marks on the thing.
Just straight ahead, really nice Brazilian rosewood,
dark and chocolatey.
Nice wide grain Appalachian spruce, ebony board and bridge,
and just big, big [G] voice.
I really like the balance between the bass
and treble on this one, as you'll hear in a [F#m] minute,
so let's give it a spin.
