Hello, Paul Hummeler at Dream Guitars and this is a beautiful Thomas Rhine guitar.
Thomas Rhine is one [Bb] of our regular builders.
He builds everything from classical guitars to steel string guitars and always gets a
lot of energy and tone out of the guitars.
This one is French polished, which to me is my favorite polish.
It's very thin [E] and flexible and it allows the wood to do everything it wants to do as
far as producing energy.
This one's got a gorgeous Adirondack spruce top on top of beautiful reddish mahogany.
So you've got a classic combination that we all know from the Martin D-18s and all the
18 series from Martin.
Mahogany and Adirondack to me, it's about clarity and power.
So you've got a combination of mahogany, definitely is clear.
There's not a whole lot of overtones to clutter the sounds.
So it's very just clear and present and then you get the bass push from mahogany, which
I really like.
And this is a fairly deep instrument, not extraordinarily so, but it has a lot of bass response.
So when you hit the low string, [Em] you get this nice little push and then you've got all the
power of the trebles from [N] the Adirondack spruce.
So it's got everything you sort of want for a guitar for finger style that you can hit
kind of hard as well in my opinion.
The 12 frets are real comfortable to reach as far as the left hand goes, but the 12 fret
also puts the bridge back here where you get all the energy out of the top and a bit of sweetness.
There's something about 12 fretters to me that always have just a little bit more color
to them that I really like.
So 12 fret Adirondack mahogany powerhouse from Thomas Ryan.
Let's give [E] it a run.
