[E] Hello everybody, it's Paul here at Dream Guitars, and I have a really special guitar to show you today.
I'm really high on Tyler Robbins.
I think he's a young maker who's super exciting to me
for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is he's been working with Brian Gallop for a while now, and Brian has
really mentored him and helped him build incredible sounding instruments.
And then of course the craftsmanship is [D#] second to none.
Brian runs the Gallop School of Luthiery and
[C#] Tyler works there with Brian, so you know quality [E] and workmanship is obviously what they do every day.
But what I'm really excited about is
it's hard for a young maker or any maker to come up with something new and exciting as far as the looks and the lines of
a guitar as well as the voice, and I think Tyler is doing both.
[F#] The shape of this guitar is just beautiful to me.
I really love
sort of the more slightly more modern fresh lines, especially this cutaway edge.
I really love that.
He does little details like the neck heel is slightly tapered to let you get your palm up closer to the cutaway.
The guitar is, this one is crafted out of beautiful wood.
You've got Engelmann spruce on the top.
You can see the slightly more yellowish tint to it.
It's a beautiful wood, very tight grain, used a lot on classical guitars where it's purity, real pure note.
And then the back and sides here is a coca-cola rosewood.
[Fm] A gorgeous set.
Tyler definitely has an eye for sexy wood, and I just love the look of it, and it's got some sapwood in the center [Em] for drama.
[F] And then of course his [F#] rosettes and his headstocks.
He just does his own thing there as far as stylistically coming up with unique ideas that I think are gorgeous [D#] and
really accent the [F#] instrument well.
But the most special thing about Tyler is the tone.
So we're gonna definitely have a good listen at this one and see what he's doing on the inside to make it special.
This guitar in particular, I saw the body when it was being constructed and just from the body alone,
I told Tyler I wanted to reserve this instrument because I knew this set of wood was gonna be special.
So let's [B] listen to it.
