Just like this one now [C#m] be sure to stick around until the [D#] end of the video because I'm [F] actually gonna reveal a [B] few of my
Favorite voicings that I'm using [A#] here toward the end.
Alright everybody.
Let's dive right into it.
So here's our first [D#] progression
[G] [C]
[D#] [G] [C]
[Bm]
[C]
[F] [G] [C]
Alright, so let's break this one down.
So we're starting with B flat [G#] sus 13.
So [A#] that's one flat seven [G#] nine
sus four right there right and [Cm] 13
So then from the B flat sus [A#] 13
We go [G] up to this G over B sound and I'm kind of doing G add [A] to over B, right
So the way this voicing is structured, it's three one two
[Bm] Three five one on top and then that brings us right up to [C] C major
Right.
So this is pretty simple.
Actually, we've got one five seven nine three five again
And part of what gives us this awesome sound is [G#] the resolution of the bass line
[G] [C]
It's kind of an unexpected resolution structure here
We're we're going from you know, the [G#] flat seven of C [G] to the major seven of C
[B] You know again speaking in terms of the [G] bass line up to [C] C so you can see the [Cm] notes here of the B flat
You know [A#] this E flat resolves down to a D the C down to a B
[G#]
[G] Right and we get this really [Cm] nice motion the B flat, of course going [G] up to a B and [C] then to C same thing
[Cm] So [G]
[Cm]
[C] that is a really really nice progression right there
I love this type of resolution structure make sure to practice that and use it in some of your own tunes
progressions and [C#] improvisation
[D#]
[D] [D#]
[D#] [E] [F]
[C#] [D#] [E] [D#]
[C#] [D#]
[E] [Cm] [F] [C] So progression number [C#] two looks like this.
We've got
D flat major seven going to [D#] E flat major seven up [E] to E minor 11 up [D#] to
F sus 13.
Okay, so we've got some more of these similar sounds in here from the first progression
So, how are these voicing structured?
Well, [C#] we've got one five three and
major seven pretty classic [D#] structure up a whole step to E flat and then [Bm] for this E minor 11 chord
I love [E] this voicing one [B] five nine
[Bm] flat [E] three eleven [Bm] flat seven [Em] and then that resolves so [D#] nice to the F sus 13, right one flat seven nine
That four and then the 13 so [C#]
[D#] [E]
[C#]
[E]
that's a really really nice one
I love that by the way, if you are enjoying these progressions so far and this is useful information to you

I've got a few different neo soul style packages [D] available that have lots of great [F] exercises
Containing this exact type of harmony as well as improvisation [F#] exercises and voicings.
Alright for our next progression.
Let's take a look at this
[C#]
[E] [B] [F#]
[C#] [E] [B]
[F#] [C#]
[E] [F#m] [F#] [C#]
[E] [B]
So this is the progression that I actually played at the [N] top of the video and this is a really really pretty one
It's beautiful bass motion.
[F#] And I think it's something that you should really know.
So let's take a look at how this works
[C#m] So we're really going, [F#] you know down [C#m] a fourth here, right?
We're doing [F#] F sharp minor to [C#] D flat minor
Then we go up to [E] E minor and [B] down a fourth to D minor.
So [F#m] we're really kind of resolving [Bm] down in [E] fourths so
So [C#]
[E] [B] [E] F sharp minor 11 [C#] to E flat minor 11 [E] to E flat minor 11 [B] to D minor
And that is a [F#m] really really pretty progression there
Now, of course, we can actually keep [F#] going because this is a very patternistic progression
so we could do F sharp minor [C#] 11 to D flat minor 11 [E] to E and
[F#m] B then we go up another minor [D] third to D
[A] Resolve to a and so on now, let's take a look at how these voicings actually work
So these are some of my other favorite minor 11 chords.
We got one [F#m] five flat three
[B] 11 [E]
flat seven nine [C#] and then 11 [F#] on top again and [C#m] then this nice little cluster for the second one
So we do one five flat seven [C#] nine flat three eleven really pretty
[E] [B] And we land on the B
So this [A#] is another really really cool one
[E] [F]
[A#] [F]
[A#] [E]
[F] [A#] [E]
[F] So for this one, i'm not going to dive into the actual voicings because we've seen these before
These are minor 11s and sus and you're probably [G#m] starting to get a sense that you know, at least from my perspective
I [A#] absolutely love minor 11 chords sus 13s.
And I think they go so well with this neo soul slash jazz sound so
We're doing B flat minor [B] 11
to B sus 13
[E] And that brings us down to E major
[F] But up to an F minor, right?
[D#] So we have this really interesting resolution structure here
We [A#] B minor 11 [E] to B sus 13 again
And that B perfectly leads us five to [E] one right to E.
But actually that's not where we're ending.
[F] We're ending on F minor
And then F of course F would be five of B [A#] flat.
So what an interesting little uh circular progression
We have here B flat [E] to five of E to E [G#m] to five of [F] F
To five of B flat, excuse [A#] me
[E]
[F] [A#] [F#]
[F]
All right.
Here's a really really pretty [F#] one
[E]
[E] [A]
[E]
[A]
So I want to throw in some [F#] different tonalities here.
We've got
this one really is a
F sharp, uh half diminished seven, right?
So
For the voicing we can actually [F#] do one flat seven flat three flat five flat seven
[F#m] right
[F] And then we land on the second chord here, which is F major seven and this is a very open sound right
It's just one seven three seven
[F#]
[F] [E] And then right here.
We've got actually to A flat diminished, right?
[A] And then we land on A minor 11
[Am]
one [Em] five flat seven nine flat [A] three eleven
so
[F#m]
[A]
[G] That's a really really pretty one.
All right, everybody
