[Em] Hi, this is Gaylord again and this time I thought [E] I'd show you how to do 50 ways to
leave your lover.
This is a song we're getting ready [F] to play in the band so I thought [Eb] I'd show you how
to do it [D] because I've been practicing [Eb] on it.
Hey, if you get a chance, look us up, AcousticShadeBand [Ebm].com out of Dallas, Fort Worth.
Listen to us, [Em] like it and all those good things.
Hey, anyway, I'm going to show you how to put your fingers [E] for these chords.
These chords are, it's not really for a beginner.
It's more of an, you've got to be probably an intermediate [Abm] player to do this one right
because the chords are not just regular C, F, and G.
I mean, there's diminished chords in [D] here.
There's major [E] 7ths and it's a little bit tough to play.
[C] So what I'm going to try and do is show you where to put your fingers to make the chords.
I'm going to call out the chord [Ab] names just so you can look it up and [E] it'll help you a
little bit but I'm just going to show you where to put your fingers on it, okay?
And [N] I'll call out the name of it.
The first chord is what they call an E minor with a G bass.
So it's written E minor slash G.
And really what you're doing, [Em] you want your index finger, normally an E minor is down here.
This is just a variation of that chord, okay?
So it is an E minor.
But you want your index finger on 3rd fret on 1, your pinky 5 on 2, [G] ring finger 5 on
[Bm] 4, and middle finger 4 on 3.
[Em] There's your sound right here.
[Am] Second chord you want is a [D] D6.
And all a D6 [E] is, you're going to use your [Gb] ring finger 2nd on 1 and [A] middle finger 2nd
on 3 with [Bm] an open 2, okay?
The next chord is a C major 7 with a [B] G bass and it's written [F] C major 7 slash [C] G.
There's your sound and all you want to do on [G] this one, use your ring finger 3 on [Cm] 6,
pinky 3 on 5, [Em] and middle finger 2 on 4.
There's your sound, okay?
The next chord is [F] called a C diminished 7.
[Gb] That's it.
I [B] love this chord.
I like [Ab] to, a lot of songs [G] have that sharp in it.
Now that's a neat sounding chord [A] to me.
Anyway, it's a C [Eb] diminished 7 slash G.
[N] That means a G bass in it.
And the way you're going to play that, your [Bm] pinky 2 on 1, ring [A] finger 2 on 3, and then
use your index finger to bar [Gb] the first 4 strings on the [Eb] first fret.
That's the [A] sound.
That's the kind of it.
[Eb]
Okay, that's even tough for me to get [Am] on there, but that's the sound you want.
[B] And then you go to a B7, okay?
And then an E [Em] minor.
And it kind of goes like this.
Now I'm not a [Bm] singer.
I'm just trying to show you where these chords go on here, on the [Em] song.
The [D] problem is all inside [Em] your head, she said to [B] me.
[Em] The [Gb] answer is easy if [B] you take it logically.
[Em]
I'd [D] like to help you [G] with your troubles to be [B] free.
There must be 50 ways [Em] to leave your lover.
Okay, that second part is an, I'd like to [Am] help you with your, it's repeating there,
okay?
[D] I'd like to help [Em] you with your troubles to be [B] free.
[Em] Must be 50 [Am] ways.
Now that ways is an A minor, with a, [D] use your thumb to get an F [Am] sharp bass note on there.
[Em] Must be [Am] 50 ways to leave your lover.
That's just an E minor, [Em] A, E minor.
But when [Gb] you do your A minor, use your thumb to come up there and grab that [A]
F sharp bass.
Let's try that again.
[D] [Em]
[Am] [B]
[Em]
[B] [Am] [Em]
That's it, okay?
And he'll be, you just play those chords over [Gb] and over again.
Then he goes into that, the chorus part, [G] just.
That's a G, goes to a B [Bb] flat, to a C, [C] back to [G] a G.
[Bb] [C]
[G] [Em] [A]
[Em] [A]
[Gb] That's all, boy I messed that up.
All you do is just keep repeating that over and over again.
So I hope that helps you a little bit.
I wish I wouldn't have ended [D] with that chord like that.
[Bm] I did.
Hey, I hope that helps you and if [C] you get a chance, check us out, AcousticShadeBand
