[Em] Hi folks, Robbie [Cm] Boone at Janet Davis Acoustic Music and we've got four of our used banjos
that we're going to review for you today and they're quite diverse.
No two are even really similar.
I'm going to be playing the same song on each one to give a fair comparison where it's easier
to hear the [G] tonal differences between the four banjos.
And if you'll give us just a minute, we'll get set up and we'll do this and we'll be right back.
[E] Okay folks, this first banjo that we've got here.
This is a Deering John Hartford and this one comes equipped with Keith Detuners.
It's got the optional pop-off resonator so you can play this as a resonator banjo or
just really quickly pop it off and play it as an open-back banjo.
Kind of a cool option.
And it does have the Grenadillo wood tone ring in it.
And I'll pick it here just a little bit and then we'll go [G]
[D] [G]
on.
Okay folks, this next one we've got for you.
This is a Fender Deluxe and it's got a couple of pretty cool upgrades.
Somebody's already put a Shubb sliding fifth string capo on it and it has been upgraded
with a lot better wood rim.
It's got a Cooperman wood rim in it and when they did that, they also put a Sullivan tone
ring in it.
So it's got a couple of nice upgrades.
A clamshell tailpiece.
Now I don't know if it came from the factory with that or not, but that's a nice heavy clamshell.
They've also put a really good looking grain-wise factory Gibson bridge on it.
So it's had a few upgrades done to it and I'll pick this one a little bit for you.
[D] [G]
Hi folks, this next banjo that we've got here for you.
It's a really nice piece and getting to be quite a rare piece as this is a Gibson RB75
JD Crow model and this one has not been altered from the factory.
A lot of banjos these days, especially the late model Gibsons, people are upgrading with
different tone rings and different tuners and I've even seen them take the original
wood rims out and stuff like that.
But this one is an unmolested banjo.
Now we do not know which ring this banjo has in it as Gibson in these Crow models, it should
have the Sullivan ring on it.
But as you banjo nerds know out [N] there, Gibson put at least two and maybe three different
rings in these banjos.
That is absolutely original, it came from the factory that way.
But we do not know which one this banjo has in it without [C#] tearing it down and flipping
the ring over and seeing what markings, if any markings, that it has on it.
But feel safe in knowing we know a little history about this banjo.
This banjo has not been altered from day one.
And I'll pick it a little bit for you and see what you all think.

[B] Alright folks, this next banjo that we've got for you is a Recording King Sunny Osborne Scout.
A curly maple banjo, very Gibson-esque, has the old Recording King type headstock on it,
one piece flange, very, very Gibson-esque looking banjo.
Has been upgraded with a cat's eye bridge.
And right off the top of my head, that's the only thing that I see on the banjo that looks
like it might have been changed.
But these banjos, you don't have to change much on them.
They're just really good right out of the box.
A good setup is really all they need.
And I'll pick a little bit on this one for [G] you.

[N] Okay folks, there you go.
There's four of the used banjos that we've got in stock right now and a little preview of them.
I'd like to add that all those banjos come with hard shell cases.
And if you'd like to visit with us about them, give us a call at 1-800-933-5362 and we'd
love
