A message from Reina and Toni chords
Start Jamming...
Hey all, [Bb] Raina and Tony here.
We have a little message for you, but figure it's best delivered
[Eb] in song.
[Bb] Phoenix and Dallas [Bbm] and Houston and Austin, [Gb] DC and Charlotte and Brooklyn and
[Ebm] Boston, at the risk of [Ab] this sounding like a [Gb] travel brochure, [Db] these are a few [Ebm] of the
stops on our [Bb] tour.
[Eb] [Bbm] Oh yes.
Play in Seattle and drink [Eb] some good coffee.
[Gb] Stop through Toronto
for poutine and hockey.
[Ebm] [Ab] Dust off our French down [Db] in old Montreal.
These are [Gb] a few of the
stops on our [Bb] crawl.
You know, like a club crawl, but it's a club crawl.
We're [Eb] working
on [Bb] two shows in Ohio, three in [Eb] California.
The list is quite long, don't say I didn't
warn you.
[Ab] Chicago and Philly, [Db] Salt Lake and Casey, Denver, New [C] Orleans and crazy [Bbm] Eugene.
We've got our van [C] fixed, all our [Bbm] bags packed, brand new [Gb] tunes in tow.
Barring the vine,
we're going to [Eb] get an intervention again.
We'll [Gb] see all of you on [Bb] the road.
[Db] [Gb] Europe and
the UK this fall.
[Bb] [Gb] Damn, I [Eb] forgot Portland.
[Gb] [N] Okay, so it turns out I also forgot Atlanta
and Nashville.
So let the record show we are playing in those cities as well on this tour.
And since Tony and I recorded that song in the park the other day and now a new development
has happened and I have to share this with you.
So remember a few weeks ago when Tony
and I were stuck in Roswell for 10 days because our van broke down there and we wrote a song
about it.
We posted it to our YouTube channel and Facebook and everything.
Well, a story
has developed around that and I just think it's so bonkers how all of this came together.
It started because Tony and I decided to drive from Minnesota back to LA a different route
from [D] usual.
Normally we would [E] drive through the Rocky Mountains.
We've done that many
times.
It's a beautiful route, but why not change it up?
We decided to go south of the
[G] Rockies and I was looking at the map and realizing [A] this is going to take us very close to Roswell,
New Mexico.
[C]
Now, if you know me at all, you know that I'm a huge sci-fi nerd.
I love,
obviously, [F] Star Trek, Star Wars, X-Files.
I've seen every episode.
Battlestar Galactica.
I mean, you name it.
If it involves aliens, I've probably seen it [Gb] and enjoyed it.
So [Eb] Roswell
as a town is right up my alley.
I'm not a huge conspiracy [F] theorist, but I love to learn
about anything relating to UFOs and aliens.
So we decided to go through Roswell.
On our
second day in Roswell, on our way out, the van mysteriously breaks down, literally as
we're trying to leave the town.
Can't figure out [Gb] what's going on with it.
It just completely
died.
We had it towed over to the Ford dealership.
They couldn't figure it out.
It turns out
it was a fried computer module.
Now, I have no idea what fried the computer of our van
as we were trying to leave this town, but can you think of anything more [G] Twilight Zone
than getting stuck in Roswell, New Mexico, with a mysterious van problem like that?
So
we're there for 10 days because of this.
It took them forever to get the part.
Long story
short, we go to every museum.
We learn more about the 1947 UFO incident.
We end up writing
a song about Roswell, posting it to the YouTube channel, posting it to Facebook.
[F] It goes viral
on Facebook.
Roswellians start sharing it with each other.
The town seems to be enjoying
the song.
It leads to one of the cutest tweets that I've ever received from the town of Roswell
itself calling it their song, which just warms my heart.
Even if the story ends there, that's
already just [Gb] such an awesome thing that has [Ab] happened to me and Tony.
But it doesn't end
there because a couple of days ago, the town of Roswell reached out to us and they asked
us to play at the UFO festival, which happens every year.
We said yes, so we're going to
be playing in [E] early July right before we kick off the tour.
[A] So, I mean, if you could
go back and tell my 10-year-old self that one day I would write a song about a UFO and
aliens and that would lead to playing an alien festival and that would be like my job, [G] you
know, I just would have been so delighted.
So basically, this whole thing happened because
you guys, you know, tune into these videos and [Gb] you share our music with friends and,
[A] you know, we just have this amazing gift to be able to [G] share music with you.
So, thank
you so much for tuning [Gb] in and for, you know, supporting us.
It really means the world.
It means that we're able to go play a really nerdy and [D] really freaking awesome [Db]
festival
that totally makes my entire year.
So, thank you.
[E] Keep tuning in.
We have a new video coming
[Em] out next week and we'll see you out there.
