A Portrait Of Bill Laurance - Chapter 2: Too Many Keyboards chords
Start Jamming...
[Ebm]
[Gb] [Fm] [Db]
[N] Yeah, toys.
You can never have too many keyboards, you know.
Like my dad would often say, you don't need another keyboard, you know.
But it's like every keyboard is like a, you know, it's another instrument.
It has a completely different role and it has a completely different voice.
So you've got to have all these sounds, you know, at your disposal.
Welcome to [Abm] the funhouse.
Yeah.
So this is essentially all the gear I use to write with.
I feel like an important thing is having everything plugged in all the time.
So [Gb] if you're ever hearing a specific [F] sound, you can jump to it straight [Bb] away.
[F] [C]
[Db] [Eb] [F]
[F]
[Ab] So down here we've got [Em] this amazing keyboard called a Roli [Ab] Seaboard.
And [A] it's this amazing thing [G] made out of rubber.
[C]
It can sort of trigger [C] all kinds of different synthesizers through it.
But it [E] allows you to do pitch bend on the actual note.
[G]
And it also allows you to control the velocity as [Em] you play it.
So the harder you push, [F] the wider the [Em] envelope filter [G] opens.
I believe it to be the future of [Abm] keyboards.
This thing is my MS-2000 that I kind of [E] use mostly for the vocoder stuff.
[F] [C]
[F] [Ab]
I'm not really a singer, but I kind of use the [Gb] vocoder as a means of getting vocal [Em] ideas down without having to actually use my real voice.
[Gm] [F]
[A] [Dm]
[Bb] [F] [Gm]
[A] [D] [D]
[Bm] [E]
We've got the Moog Little Fatty, which is great for bass tones [F] or lead sounds.
[Dm]
[D] [G]
This is actually the patch I use on the [C] real one.
Let's get a pad going [Fm] here.
[G]
[F]
[Fm] [A]
Yeah, [Em] so this is a good sort of all-around.
It's a monophonic synth, but the bass tone you get out of it is really Moog-er.
The front runners for filling that full bass tone.
When you're putting it through a full PA, it's [Gb] all about Moog, really.
Let me give you an example.
So when we play [G]
Money [Db] in the Desert.

When this was at my dad's house, I was in the kitchen cooking [B] lunch and he was [Bb] writing this tune.
