This is the time of year when a lot of
schoolers are getting ready for their year-end [D#] assemblies and the kids at this
Calgary school [A#] sure had a [D#m] special guest of honor in their [A#] gym today helping [D#m] out
after a tough break.

I've just never seen an eagle before.

And this is no ordinary eagle. _
_ _ _ _ Spirit is a golden eagle from a wildlife rehab center near Lethbridge.
Brought in two years ago with a wound that changed his life forever.
The gunshot pellet went through his right eye and sadly that took his vision away in both eyes.
Why did they shot the_
Well we're not sure.
It even could have been an accident.
A blind eagle wouldn't survive in the wild so Spirit will never be released.
We wanted to cheer him up because [D] he got hurt. _ _ _
The grade one and two students have [C] written a song about him. _ _
_ [Em] _ _ Spirit's sight may [C] be gone but his hearing is as sharp as ever.
_ _ [G] _ We wanted to do a [D] song because he felt really bad [C] for him.
_ _ [Em] _ _ I think he'll [C] feel really good and [Em] happy that we're singing it for him and I think he'll feel [C] free.
