Spirit is a golden eagle from a wildlife rehab center near Lethbridge.
Brought in two years ago with a wound that changed his life forever.
The gunshot pellet went through his right eye and sadly that took his vision away in both eyes.
Why did they shot the
Well we're not sure.
It even could have been an accident.
A blind eagle wouldn't survive in the wild so Spirit will never be released.
We wanted to cheer him up because [D] he got hurt.
The grade one and two students have [C] written a song about him.
[Em] Spirit's sight may [C] be gone but his hearing is as sharp as ever.
[G] We wanted to do a [D] song because he felt really bad [C] for him.
[Em] I think he'll [C] feel really good and [Em] happy that we're singing it for him and I think he'll feel [C] free.
