It was my [F#] dad [G#] directing that song at State [A#] Line Free Will Baptist [B] Church.
And my dad was the [F#] song director.
And that was the first time I heard it, I'm sure, because from the time that I was born,
Dad was the song leader.
And now they have the praise teams and all this stuff going on.
[G] Our praise team was my dad directing [B] the [F#] congregation.
And didn't your granddad also write, This World Is Not My Home?
He actually didn't write it, but he did the arrangement that everybody uses.
Oh, is that right?
And then he copyrighted his arrangement.
So we own the [G] copyrighted arrangement.
Okay, so, because I was sure [F#] I saw his name on that.
Which, you know, he's pretty smart.
Oh yeah, [G#] I'm gonna grab my guitar and show you something.
[A#m] Sam Goodman recorded this song, it was with the Goodmans.
And then the Primitive Quartet recorded [E] it.
And I don't ever sing it.
In fact, I just
Is this something you wrote?
Yeah, yeah, I wrote this and I thought it'd be interesting, because of that song.
And I wouldn't do it all, but
I remember [A] country church on [E] Sunday morning
How they prayed and we sang the good [B] old [E] songs
[B]
[E] Calloused hands raised in the air
[A] Old [E] saints shouted [A] and everybody [E] sang
[F#] This world is [B] not my home
[E] I [A] remember hearing [E] firing rimstone preach from heaven
[C#m] Watching sinners run [B] down the aisle
[E] As everybody [A] gathered [E] round
Prayed that soul to victory
[A] Tears [E] flowed when a sinner [B] was saved
[E] Country stopped [A] and [B] everybody talked [E] about heaven
[A] How we'll [E] all move around [B] the throne
Now [E] it seems as [A] if most of them [E] are missing
Looks [A] like [B]
