Anyway, let's get right into the lesson.
Hola guys, this is Amos Stole Music and in today's lesson, I'm going to teach you how
to play Gimme Gimme Gimme by ABBA, the very iconic riff.
Give you a preview before we start [Dm] learning it.
It's very awesome.
Check it out.
[D]
[F] [A]

[F]
[A] [Dm]
Alright, let's [N] go ahead and learn it right now.
Very awesome riff.
So right hand is the fast arpeggios.
Mainly you have to focus on the right hand because the left hand is just doing tremolos,
slow tremolos, alternating octaves so it shouldn't be that difficult for the left hand.
Anyway, so right hand starts on the D here, [C] middle C, go up an octave to C, D right next to that.
We go [Gb] a D minor arpeggio up to the higher D like this, [Dm] D F A D and then [Ab]
repeat the D
and back down [Dm] the arpeggio, A F D.
[N] Okay, that's the first part.
We'll break up the lessons into 4 parts, it's easy to learn.
Let's learn it again.
So there's 8 notes for this first part.
It's basically just a [C] D F A D arpeggio and a D A F D backwards arpeggio as well.
So like [Dm] this.
Like that.
Okay, so upwards arpeggio, 4 notes and then repeat the top note and back down the 4 notes like that.
Okay, that's the first part.
So it requires a little bit of practice to get [C] it fast and nice and fluent as well.
So [Dm] no sloppy, slow, fast like that.
So make sure it's nice and clean.
So once you get that, [Gb] left hand is really simple.
You just alternate between the lower bass notes.
So [D] find the lowest D octave on your piano.
So low D, high octave above D and then alternate between that for 4 times.
So 1, 2, 3, 4.
Like [Dm] that.
So 2 hands together, it goes like this.
The rhyme starts.
[D] Skedaddle.
Like that, okay?
[E] So yeah, let me see.
In fact, let's actually not do the tremolo first because it will get a bit confusing
because it stacks on with the right hand of the second part and stuff.
So just treat it as all octaves first.
[Dm] So just do [D] it as an octave first.
At the end we'll add the patterns to it.
It will make it a lot more easier to understand after that.
Anyways, let's continue on.
The second part, right [Dm] hand goes D, F, A, D arpeggio again and then back down to D, A,
F, D, E, F, G, A.
So pretty much the same [A] right hand notes as the first part but we add another E, F, G,
A at [Dm] the end like this.
Upwards arpeggio, downwards arpeggio, E, F, G, A like that.
Okay?
Like that.
Okay.
D, F, A, D, D, A, F, D.
Okay?
D, F, A, D, D, A, F, D.
Okay?
D, F, A, D, D, A, F, D.
Okay?
Like that.
Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh.
Okay?
Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh.
Alright?
Okay, remember that upwards, downwards arpeggio plus E, F, G, A.
Alright?
[F] And then left hand just F bass note.
Okay?
We apply the pattern at the end [Ab] of the lesson.
But anyways, right [Dm] hand starts again.
[F] Pick it up with a D.
[Dm] [F]
So back to back the two parts we've learned so far.
We play [Dm] like this.
[D] [F]
Moving on to [G] the third part.
Right hand continues.
This time F major arpeggio upwards.
F, A, C up to the high F.
[D] And then change here.
E, [Ab] F, E, C, A.
Like that.
[A] Like that.
So we have upwards arpeggio of [Fm] F, A, C, F first.
F, A, C, F.
And then F, [F] E, C, A.
Like that.
Nice and clean.
And then the left [A] hand is just A octave.
Like that.
Okay?
So, together it goes like this.
Just the last note on the right hand with the bass note on the left hand.
So like this.
Like that.
[F] Okay?
Like that.
So back to back the three parts we've [Dm] learned so far.
We play like this.
[D]
[Dm] [F] [A]
Moving on to the fourth and last part.
Right hand [E] goes down to [Am] E, A, C, E.
It's a second inversion of A minor.
And then it goes [Dm] C, A, F, D.
Like that.
[Ab] Okay?
This is a little bit more harder because the arpeggio [Am] is more dumpy.
Okay?
E, A, C, E.
[Dm] And then C, A, F, D.
Downwards D minor 7 [Ab] arpeggio at the end.
So we have a second inversion ascending [Am] A minor arpeggio.
Downwards [Dm] D minor 7 arpeggio.
[Am] Like that.
[Dm] Like that.
[Am] Okay?
[Dm] Back to the flute [D] sides.
Nice and clean.
And the left hand, just D bass note.
Okay?
And it turns together just with the same concept.
Right hand [Am] last note with the left hand bass note.
Like this.
[D]
Like that.
[Dm] There you go.
Awesome.
So back to back all four parts will be played like this.
[D]
[Dm] [F] [A]
[D] Repeat.
[F]
[A] [D] There you go.
So once you get the basic version all good.
[N] Now let's add the left hand pattern that I was going to teach you at the start.
So all you need to do is repeat each bass note on the left hand.
Alternate between the [G] octaves for four times.
[D] So 1, 2, 3, [F] 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
[A] 1, 2, 3, 4.
Back [D] down to 1.
Like that.
There you go.
So putting the tones together [Ab] requires a little bit of hand coordination.
But it's all good.
Okay?
So just practice the basic version [Dm] first.
Then apply this afterwards.
Like this.
[F]
[A] [D]
Repeat.
[Dm]
[F] [A]
[D] [F] Awesome.
What an awesome riff.
Okay?
