It was [G#] John Regan's idea to [F#] do Do You.
I have to [G#] tell the truth.
It wasn't my idea.
John said, you know, this would be a great song to do a remake.
And I said, hey, I said, John, I don't think I can sing this fucking song.
Because it's just too many words.
[F#] _ _ _ [G#] _
And after we recorded the basic track, you know, I tried singing it in the studio and I was having a lot of trouble.
_ And eventually, eventually, I listened to it in the car over and over again, you know, going to the studio, going home. _
And actually, it's probably one of the better vocals I've ever done in my life.
[C#]
And [G#] I hurt in the police.

_ I kind of dig my life.
I think [C#] I've had a very interesting life.
[C#m] And I know there's a guardian angel up there taking [F#] care of me because I do have nine [C#] lives.
I've used up about seven, so I'm good for about two more.
So [G#] that's why I've slowed [F#] down a lot in the past few years.
You've got two lives and [C#] three brain cells.
Two lives and [C#m] three brain cells left, man.
I'm doing OK.

Feel, touch your long black hair.
They [C#] don't feel the same.
[C#m] The song Trouble Walking, what [F#] does that exactly refer to?
Well, if you listen [C#] to the lyrics, it's I'm trouble walking.
I'm every mother's nightmare.
[F#] So it's kind of like, yeah, I'm a bad guy.
But [C#] everybody kids me that, you know, [G#] Ace, you have trouble walking.

_ _ Cause I _ _ hate _ never seeing nothing like you.
[G#] That's the whole secret about rock and roll is [F#] to make it fun, not work.
[C#] _
[G#] Towards the end of the Kiss days, it became work.
It wasn't fun anymore.
That's when I knew I [C#] had to leave.

_ _ _ [C#] _ [G#] There's a guy right now [F#] working on a flamethrower guitar [G#] for me.
But I told [C#] him we're probably going to have trouble with fire marshals in the hall.
So _ we're trying to maybe redesign that.
_ _ How far from the plane are we looking at?
Well, he was talking about 30 feet.
And I [F#] said, you know, _ we may [Cm] end up,
we may have a little, get [F#] a little resistance here from promoters and fire marshals.
Come on, it's hell, man.

[F#] _ An ego trip.
I feel very uncomfortable when people like start shaking around me.
_ _ It's really unnerving.
So I kind of, I try to make people feel at ease by, you know,
acting like I'm just like another jerk, _ _ which I really am.
But for some reason people think I'm God.
