Start Jamming...
We're at the top of the 12 bar blues for a new variation and [A] it starts with
[D]
[A] So you you go up playing
[C#m]
[A] second third finger on
six and third strings
[C#m] [E] and then here
[A] The thumbs playing a bass on D to A and you're basically playing the [D] same shape
[C#] Same as this
[Em] Except you're transposed up to
D [A] which would be on the 10th fret
Okay, all together.
It's like [D] this
[F#] So you're coming from
[D]
[A] [F#] [A]
[A] Then taking your third finger play thirds on the second and third [D#] string
[Em] [E] [E]
[D] Third
[Em]
Push open
pull off
[E] Hammer on okay, [G#m]
so we've come from [Em] here, [E]
then we're gonna go
[F#] [D]
[A] So you have [G] a walk up to the d7 shape with the f [E]-sharp in the [F#] bass
[A]
[F] [D] [Em]
[E] [F#] [A]
[F#] [E]
[A] [C#]
[A] All right, and then you jump way up for [B] [Dm] [A]
this [F] variation
this comes from Willie Brown's original and this is just amazing piece of invention and
I learned this piece after seeing Roy bookbinder play it a few years ago
It's very elegant and now in general I've
transformed this arrangement into a bit of a shuffle and
[A]
What we have here is you're in its essence you're you've got a bit of a
seventh shape
Like [D] your e7 d7 shape [Em] [G] and then you're gonna play a boogie [A] woogie line under it
[C#] [F#m]
[C#] [F#m]
[Em] [G#] Now there's two elements to that the first element [G] of the boogie [A] woogie line
[F#m]
[A]
From fifth string over [C#] the sixth string fret it
[F#m] [C]
[E] [F#m] [E]
[A]
[D] [F] [F#] [D]
[F#m] [C#] [F#m]
[A] [D]
[F#] So you're gonna use [A] your a bar [D] see [F] [B] how my bar stays to [A] this
[D] [F] [D] [A]
[C#] [F#m] [C#] then we're gonna go up to fret
[E] [G] [G#m] Same [A] thing up to fret
[G#] down
[Bm]
[A] This is another variation of our classic turnaround
[B]
[E] [A] Being mindful of this is the basic template for the temp turnaround
[F]
[E] But here we go half bar
[G]
[C] [B] [A] [G]
[E] [A] this is a
E5 7 with the fifth and the bass on the sixth string B [G] flat
[E]
Oh
[B]
