I asked him if I could try [Eb] playing his guitar when I was six.

And the shapes of different chords.

Those were [Eb] the first chords I learned.
They were just [Bb]
open, standard guitar chords.
I wrote So Sunrise Be when I was [Eb]
18 or [Bb] 17.
I think 18.
[Eb] It was one of those songs that [Bb] took actual work.
Because the lyrics, they didn't [Eb] come very easily.
[Bb] I [G] didn't discover the words until I was in Minnesota.
One night I stayed [Em] up until [D] six [C] or seven in the [C] morning.
Something [G] like that.
Anyway, until the sun was coming up.
I took a [Dm] walk with my guitar and I just sat and wrote the song [G] all night.
And then by the morning I had finished [Dm] it and I [C] recorded it just like on my [C] computer.
