Hello, it's me, the ukulele teacher, here to teach you how to play the closing theme of Adventure Time, also known as the Island Song.
So, grab your uke, make sure it's in tune,
[F] and [F#] get ready to play the Island Song.
This song has got six chords in it, I'm going to take you through each [G] one now.
To play the chord of A, put your first finger on the first fret of the third string,
and your second finger [N] on the second fret of the fourth string, and A should sound like this.
[A] To play the chord of D, put your first, second and third fingers on the second fret of the fourth, third and second strings,
and D should sound like this.
[D]
To play [C] the chord of G, put your first finger on the second fret of the third string,
your second finger on the second fret of the first string,
and your third finger on the third fret of the second string, and G should sound like this.
To play the chord of B minor, bar your first finger across the second [Bm] fret, like this.
And add your third finger to the fourth fret of the fourth string.
For a bit of extra support, you can also add your second finger to the third fret,
although it won't make any difference to the sound, and B minor should sound like this.
F sharp [G] 7 is the hardest chord in the whole song, and it will take a bit of practice.
To play F sharp 7, put your first finger on the second fret of the second string,
your second finger on the third fret of the fourth string,
your third finger on the fourth fret of the third string,
and your first finger on the fourth fret of the first string,
and F sharp 7 should sound like this.
[F#] [E] And to play E7, put your first finger on the first fret of the fourth string,
your second finger on the second fret of the third string,
and your third finger on the second fret of the first string, and E7 should sound like this.
Now this [N] song has got four verses and two choruses in it.
However, each of the verses are slightly different, and both of the choruses are slightly different.
But don't worry, there are ways to help you remember them.
So after playing one downstroke on the A for the introduction,
[A]
the first two lines of each [G] verse are D, G, B minor, D, A, G.
Now the strumming pattern, I play two downstrokes on the D and the G,
and then a full bar of down, down, up, up, down, up on the B minor, like [Bm] this.
And then [A] for the second line, I play two downstrokes on the D and the A,
and a full bar of [B] down, down, up, up on the G, like [G] this.
So after the intro of one [A] downstroke of A,
[D] the first two lines of each verse start like this.
[A#] Come along [G] with [Bm]
me [D] to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
So [D] the last two lines of verse one are a full bar on B minor,
a full bar on G, a full bar on D, [D] and a full bar on A.
So verse one sounds like this.
Come along [G]
[Bm] with me to a town [A]
beside [G] the sea.
[Bm] We can wander through the [G] forest [D] and do so as we [A] please.
[N] Then verse two starts the same way as verse one,
and in fact the third line is the same for verse two as well.
Then the final line is half on G, half on A, and two full bars on D.
So let's play the full [Am] first two verses.
[A#] Come [G] along [Bm] with me [D] to a [A] town beside [G] the sea.
[Bm] We can wander through [G] the forest [D] and do so as [A] we please.
[D] Come [G] along [Bm]
with me [D] to a cliff [A] under [G] a tree,
where [Bm] we'll gaze upon [G] the water as an [A] everlasting [D]
dream.
Now we move to the [N] chorus, and the first three lines of both choruses are exactly the same.
So the first two lines of the chorus are a full bar on F sharp 7 and G,
and then half a bar on G, A, D.
So the chorus starts like [F#] this.
All of my [G]
affections, I give them [A] all to [D]
you.
Then the second [N] half of the chorus starts F sharp 7 and G again,
and then a full bar on D and a full bar on A.
Maybe by next [G] summer, [D]
we won't have [A] changed our tune.
So [F#] let's play the first chorus in full.
All of my [G] affections, I give [A] them all to [D] you.
[F#] Maybe by [G]
next summer, [D] we won't have changed [A] our tune.
And [N] from that A, you go straight into verse 3.
Again, the first two lines of verse 3 are the same as verses 1 and 2,
but then the last two lines are different again.
It's a full bar on D and G, and then half a bar on G and A,
and then two full bars on D.
So that verse 3 in full goes.
I [D] still [G] want to [Bm]
be in [D] this town [A] beside the [G]
sea,
[D] making up new [G]
numbers and living so [A] [D]
merrily.
[F]
Then we move on to the second chorus,
the first three lines of which are exactly the same as the first chorus,
but the last line is different.
It's a full bar on E7 and a full bar on A.
So that last chorus goes [F#] like this.
All of [G] my affections, I give them all to [D] you.
[F#] I'll be here for [G] you always, [E] and always be for [A] you.
And that [G#] A goes into [N] verse 4, the final verse.
So the first two lines of verse 4 are the same as verses 1 to 3,
but then there are three new lines at the end.
The first line is a full bar on D and a full bar on G.
The second line is half a bar of D and A, and [D] then a full bar on B minor.
And then the final line is half a bar on G, half a bar on A, and a full bar on D.
So that final verse goes like this.
Come along [G] [Bm] with me [D] to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
[D] We can wander through [G] the forest [D] and do [A] so as [Bm] we please, [G] living [A] so [D] merrily.
So let's put the whole thing together.
Come along with [Bm]
me to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
[Bm] We can wander through [G] the forest [D] and do so as [A] we please.
[D] Come [G] along [Bm] with me [D] to a cliff [A] under [G] a tree.
[Bm] Where we'll gaze upon [G] the water as an [A] everlasting [D]
dream.
[F#]
All of [G] my affections, I give them all [D] to you.
[F#]
Maybe by [G] next summer, [D]
we won't have changed [A] our tunes.
[D] I so want [Bm] to be [D] in this town beside [G] the sea.
[D]
Making up [G] new numbers and living so [D] merrily.
[F#] All of [G] my affections, I give [A] them all to [D] you.
[F#] I'll be here for [G] you always, [E] and always be [A] for you.
[D] Come [G] along [Bm] with me [D] to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
[D] We can wander through [G] the forest [D] and do [A] so as [Bm] we please.
[G] Living [A] so [D] merrily.
And that's how to play the [F] Island Song, which is the closing theme from Adventure Time.

Hello, it's me, the ukulele teacher, here to teach you how to play the closing theme of Adventure Time, also known as the Island Song.
So, grab your uke, make sure it's in tune, _
_ [F] and [F#] get ready to play the Island Song.
This song has got six chords in it, I'm going to take you through each [G] one now.
To play the chord of A, put your first finger on the first fret of the third string,
and your second finger [N] on the second fret of the fourth string, and A should sound like this.
[A] _ To play the chord of D, put your first, second and third fingers on the second fret of the fourth, third and second strings,
and D should sound like this.
[D] _
To play [C] the chord of G, put your first finger on the second fret of the third string,
your second finger on the second fret of the first string,
and your third finger on the third fret of the second string, and G should sound like this.
_ To play the chord of B minor, bar your first finger across the second [Bm] fret, like this.
_ And add your third finger to the fourth fret of the fourth string.
For a bit of extra support, you can also add your second finger to the third fret,
although it won't make any difference to the sound, and B minor should sound like this. _ _ _
[F#] _ _ [E] And to play E7, put your first finger on the first fret of the fourth string,
your second finger on the second fret of the third string,
and your third finger on the second fret of the first string, and E7 should sound like this.
_ _ Now this [N] song has got four verses and two choruses in it.
However, each of the verses are slightly different, and both of the choruses are slightly different.
But don't worry, there are ways to help you remember them.
So after playing one downstroke on the A for the introduction,
[A] _
_ the first two lines of each [G] verse are D, G, B minor, D, A, G.
Now the strumming pattern, I play two downstrokes on the D and the G,
and then a full bar of down, down, up, up, down, up on the B minor, like [Bm] this.
_ _ _ And then [A] for the second line, I play two downstrokes on the D and the A,
and a full bar of [B] down, down, up, up on the G, like [G] this.
_ _ So after the intro of one [A] downstroke of A,
_ [D] the first two lines of each verse start like this.
[A#] Come along [G] with [Bm] _
me [D] to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
_ So [D] the last two lines of verse one are a full bar on B minor,
a full bar on G, a full bar on D, [D] and a full bar on A.
So verse one sounds like this.
Come along [G] _
[Bm] with me to a town [A]
beside [G] the sea.
_ [Bm] We can wander through the [G] forest _ [D] and do so as we [A] _ please.
_ [N] Then verse two starts the same way as verse one,
and in fact the third line is the same for verse two as well.
Then the final line is half on G, half on A, and two full bars on D.
So let's play the full [Am] first two verses.
_ [A#] Come [G] along [Bm] with me [D] to a [A] town beside [G] the sea.
[Bm] We can wander through [G] the forest _ _ [D] and do so as [A] we please.
[D] Come [G] along _ [Bm]
with me [D] to a cliff [A] under [G] a tree,
_ where [Bm] we'll gaze upon [G] the water as an [A] everlasting [D]
dream. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Now we move to the [N] chorus, and the first three lines of both choruses are exactly the same.
So the first two lines of the chorus are a full bar on F sharp 7 and G,
and then half a bar on G, A, D.
So the chorus starts like [F#] this.
All of my [G] _
affections, I give them [A] all to [D]
you.
_ _ Then the second [N] half of the chorus starts F sharp 7 and G again,
and then a full bar on D and a full bar on A.
Maybe by next [G] summer, _ [D]
we won't have [A] changed our tune. _ _
So [F#] let's play the first chorus in full.
All of my [G] _ affections, I give [A] them all to [D] you.
_ _ [F#] Maybe by [G]
next summer, _ [D] we won't have changed [A] our _ tune.
I [D] still [G] want to [Bm]
be in [D] this town [A] beside the [G]
sea,
_ _ [D] making up new [G]
numbers _ and living so [A] _ _ [D]
merrily.
_ _ _ _ _ _ [F]
Then we move on to the second chorus,
the first three lines of which are exactly the same as the first chorus,
but the last line is different.
It's a full bar on E7 and a full bar on A.
So that last chorus goes [F#] like this.
All of [G] my affections, I give them all to [D] you.
_ [F#] I'll be here for [G] you always, [E] and always be for [A] _ you. _ _
Come along [G] _ [Bm] with me [D] to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
_ [D] We can wander through [G] the forest _ [D] and do [A] so as [Bm] we please, _ [G] living [A] so [D] merrily.
_ _ _ _ So let's put the whole thing together.
Come along with [Bm]
me to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
_ [Bm] We can wander through [G] the forest _ [D] and do so as [A] we please.
[D] Come [G] along [Bm] with me [D] to a cliff [A] under [G] a tree.
_ [Bm] Where we'll gaze upon [G] the water _ as an [A] everlasting [D] _
dream.
_ _ _ _ _ [F#]
All of [G] my affections, _ I give them all [D] to you.
_ [F#] _
Maybe by [G] next summer, _ [D]
we won't have changed [A] our _ tunes.
[D] I so want [Bm] to be [D] in this town beside [G] the sea.
_ [D] _
Making up [G] new numbers _ _ and living so [D] merrily. _ _ _
_ _ _ [F#] _ All of [G] my affections, _ I give [A] them all to [D] you.
_ [F#] I'll be here for [G] you always, _ [E] and always be [A] for you.
[D] Come [G] along [Bm] with me [D] to a town [A] beside [G] the sea.
_ [D] We can wander through [G] the forest [D] and do [A] so as [Bm] we _ please.
[G] Living [A] so [D] merrily.
_ _ _ _ And that's how to play the [F] Island Song, which is the closing theme from Adventure Time.
