[Eb] the album is Seed.
We immediately [Eb] thought it was the perfect
[Db] title for the album
because we felt that it was [E] a new beginning for [Eb] the band.
We didn't start the album intending to drop the [Ebm] TAG sound system,
but as the [Ebm] record progressed it became apparent that we're [Eb] no longer a sound system,
we're a band with a stable [Bbm] line-up, we've got our own sound,
and this has developed [F] over years of playing together.

There are fantastic [C] musicians in the band and it's been [Bb] a great journey [F] discovering their talents
and what they can do to inspire one another.
On this particular album I feel that we [Bb] find a perfect marriage
between the balance of [C] machine and real live playing.

We're rehearsing in [Bb] our studio in Brit Row in Islington, North London,
and [C] this is the first day that we've got the [Bbm] rhythm section together,
[Bb] Ian on drums and Kaz on bass, and [Bbm] it's kind of exciting.
We're at the bottom of the hill but we're [Bb] working on grooves using a [F] live drum and bass player
and pads and triggers, [Bb] so you kind of hear at the very inception [Ebm] of the live band.
[Bbm]
[Ebm]
[Eb]
[Ebm] Siberia was around on the kind of B [Bbm]-list since Volume 3,
and we needed an angle, we needed something to just push it onto the A-list for this [F] record,
and that was really [Ebm] provided by Jesse Cook, the amazing Canadian flamenco guitarist.
I'm not going to say it all, but I'm not going to say [Bbm] it all.
[Bbm] It was
[B]
[Ab] great to have a radio hit on our last album, Further In Time, with When [Gb] You're Falling,
sung by Peter Gabriel.
It [B] was very loose and relaxed and I started getting into the rhythm.
[Gb]
[B]
I'm begging I [Gb] scream, somehow I [Db] don't hear the [B] sound
I'm begging [Gb] I see the things, grab your feet, don't touch the ground
I'm begging I'm [Gb]
falling, I can't tell [Db] which way [B] is down
[Gb] I can see through the clouds, I can walk right to the wall
[Gbm] Having the likes of Peter Gabriel and Robert Plant and Sinead O [Db]'Connor come on board
and [Ab] collaborate and sing your songs has been an amazing experience
and a huge [Gb] confidence builder in terms of the way we structure our songs.
[Bm] Seed takes the songwriting process another leap forward.
We've developed more confidence in [Em] people's abilities to carry the emptiness.

[G] Rise Above It is a song that's the centrepiece for the album
[Bb] and we wanted to use a [Bb] new and up and coming vocalist
[G] [Dm] and the graininess and quality of the voice of Mundi
who's had a huge reputation in Ireland [Dm] for several years now
was just perfect [Am] for the track.
I saw it in a dream, [C] it was another [G] time
Everything was true, everything so blind
[Am]
You were always there, [C] I could see clear
[G] I was always yours, you were always mine
[D]
Rise [C] Above It
[D] [D] It's seven years of gigging, playing together if you like
that kind of apprenticeship on the [C] road
[Dm] and I think we've now developed our own genre, our [Am] own style of music
so when people ask us do we play [C] world music, do we play club music, do we play folk music
[G] we just play Afrikaalt music, we have our own sound and style
I think that's got a lot of character and identity
[Gbm] and comes [D] across in this album and we're very proud of that.
