[Ab]
[Db] [Ab] So this whole main riff is based off an A7 chord.
And the shape.
[Ebm] But you will keep that shape and then you'll move it up [Abm] to the third fret, fifth fret,
[Db] back to the third, back to the second.
[Ab]
So I'm going to call out a strumming pattern that will help get you through this.
Down, down, up, down, down, down, down, [Db] down, up, down, down, [C] down, down, down, up, down,
[Ab] down, up, down.
[Db]
[Bb] So you'll see after you do four down strums [Gb] going from third, fifth, [Ab] third, second, you'll
start with two downs, which will take you right back into the pattern.
So I'm going to do that one slow without me calling it out to help you follow along.
[Db] [Ebm]
[Gb] Okay for the single note lead run, it's going to start off your low E, third fret and fifth fret.
[Ab] [Db] [Eb]
And then it'll be third, fifth on your A string [Gb] sliding up to the seventh fret on your A string.
[Eb] That's kind of a fast slide.
It's not [Eb] ait's ajust [Gb] kind of dive into it. So we have [B] ending [Ebm] on the fifth fret [F] on your D string and then it'll go into these half step bends. The first one is on the fifth fret off your B [Eb] string, sixth fret on your G bending [C] up a half step and [Gb] then it falls back into the pattern. [Ebm] [Gb] This time, second time around you skip the fifth fret on the [Ab] D string. You jump right into the half step bends on the fifth fret [Ebm] off your B string, [C] sixth fret off your G [N] and then you'll do the eighth fret off your B string, a whole [Gb] step. And then for the secondfor the third time it loops back, it does the same pattern as the first and for the last one, [C] ends on that fifth fret on your D string and then back [Db] into the rhythm. [Ab] [Gb] So let me just play that by itself slow. [Eb]
[Cm] [Ab]
[Eb] [Gb]
[Ab] [Ebm]
[Cm] [Gb]
[Ebm]
[E]
[Ab]
[E]
[Gb] Okay, [Ab] for the chorus, you're going to use an F major bar [E] chord, an A major [Ab] chord, which I'm not playing the high E, I'm [B] muting it. Then the variation will be dropping your second or third finger down on the third fret B [Ab] string [G] and then you'll use a G chord but you will mute thewithwi a muted A [Gb] string. [E] So, for me to give you a strumming pattern, it's going to be a little too difficult. It's more or less all down strums and then a few up, up, down, down, the transition to the next chords. So what I'm going to do is just play it really slow. And I'm not reallywhen I'm doing the down strums, I'm not always hitting the wholeor all six strings. I'm kind of hitting likeI'llI'l hit the lower three or four and hit the second strum down, and then I'll hit the higher three or four. So something likeinsteadins of justthattha way it gives it some dynamics since you're not really doing an up and down strum. So let me just run this whole thing slow to help give you a pattern through it and, you know, try to make some sense of it. [Ab]
[E]
[Gb]
[Bb] [Db] So what you'll find out whenever you find a strumming pattern that works for you is you'll pretty much do the same strumming pattern for the F and the G, but when you get to the A chord with the variation, it's going to have to slightly change. So let me break down that little variation on the A chord for you one more time really slow. [Ab] [E] [N]
