I'm just going to run up and play the banjo.
I'm proud of those from [Fm] the rest of these [D] boys and girls up here on [G] stage.
But we hope you enjoy our [F] Thanksgiving weekend of bluegrass, [D] extravaganza, and blowout here this [Gm] afternoon.
This is a big thrill for me [A] to get to play with a lot of my musical heroes and friends up here on [G] stage
and play some of the music that a lot of us grew up playing in bluegrass bands in [F] the last century, in the 70s.
There's a lot of tunes [D] that migrated from country music and pop music into the bluegrass [G] repertoire
both around this part of the country and in California where I grew up.
And Georgia O'Geary, our bass player, grew up.
This is actually kind of [Gm] his idea.
He's a little older than me.
I made a bluegrass record a few years ago.
[D] I recorded some of these tunes on that [Bb] record, including this next tune [G] that's actually an instrumental.
One of my favorite tunes [Gm] growing up was a tune called Earl's Breakdown.
It was portrayed by the late, great Earl Scruggs, who was [G] just such an inspiration to so many people.
[Eb] I always loved this tune, Earl's Breakdown, and I wrote this tune using [G] the tuners
and decided to call it [E] Earl's Breakdown.
