[Em] Hey guys, it's Carl Brown from Guitar Lessons 365 [Bm].com.
Got a [N] beautiful song for you guys today.
We're going to learn how to play All I Have to Do is Dream by the Eberle Brothers.
So we basically have two chord progressions and we're all set here.
But some good chord work, especially if you have any trouble with barre chords or anything,
it's a great exercise here.
So we're in standard tuning here.
I'm going to start you out with that opening [E] chord, just an E major chord.
Alright, so the main chord progression is just what I played.
[C#m]
[A] [B]
[E] You kind of hear those four chords repeated a lot here.
It's the verse and the chorus.
So we're going to start with just an E major.
Then we go up to our first barre chord.
Now this [Gm] is a C [C#] sharp minor chord, [C#m] [G#] [D#] but we're going to have a G sharp in the bass.
[C#m] [F] Alright, so that's going [B] to require a full barre before the fourth fret.
And you're going to be playing the fifth fret on the B [E] string, [C#m] sixth fret on the G, and
sixth fret on the D.
So it goes down [E]
to an A [A] major, into a [F#] B dominant seventh chord.
[G#m] Alright, so that's second fret on the [B] A, first fret on the D, [C#] second fret on the G, [B] open
B string, and the second fret on the high E.
[Gm] So you're going to repeat [E] those.
[C#m]
The rhythm is just the standard [G#] down, up, down, up, [E] eighth note feel.
[C#m] [A]
[B] [E]
[C#m] [Em] [A] See how I'm accenting some of the downstrokes?
[E] [C#m]
[A] [B]
[E] So that's the verse and [D#] the chorus, and there's a turnaround right at the end of the [D] chorus
[E] which sounds like this.
[A] [E]
Alright, [G] so that's going from that E major, just keeping the same rhythm still.
E major to A [A] major, back [E] to E.
After you've done that a couple times, you're going to change that to an E dominant seventh chord.
So that's going to happen by lifting up [D] your third finger to [B] make that D string [D#m] open, and
then reaching over [B] and grabbing the third fret on the B string.
[E]
So it's like this.
[A]
[E] [E]
Alright, from there [B] we have the bridge section which happens a couple times [F] in the song.
Great chord work here, so let me just play it [D] through real quick for you.
[A]
[G#m]
[F#m] [B] [E]
[A]
[Em] [G#m]
[F#]
[B] [G#] [E]
I'm going to start back over [C#m] [A] with [G#] the verse again.
Alright, so [B] that's going to start here with an A [A] major chord, over to a G sharp minor chord.
So that's a full [G#] bar now at the fourth fret, and you're going to have six fret on the A,
six on the D.
[G#m]
[E] Now you're going to come down here, and you can play this chord a couple different ways.
It's an A major [A] chord with [F#] F sharp.
[F#m]
So really what you, you can look at this if you want, as just an F sharp minor seventh chord.
[F#] In any case, it's going to be the low second fret there on the low E string.
And then [D#] you're going to hold those notes with that A [E] major chord, just second fret
on the [A] D, G, and B string.
So [A#] I like to just play my thumb [F#] here on the low note, and [A] then bar those top [C] notes, or
you can just play them any way you want to [F#] play an A [F#m] major.
[B] And then from there, that B7, [E]
back to the E.
So we have [A] this.
[G#m]
[F#m] [G] [B] [E]
So it's just F sharp minor seventh chord there.
Now we have a little melody line.
That's just the [C#] open B [B] string.
I'm just kind of [D#] making, I'm not really, probably played by the rhythm guitar part, but I'm
just kind of trying to do it in an area that we can get back to the [Bm] chorus quickly.
So it's an open B and the open high E [Em] together a couple times.
Then just a second fret on the high E [B] with the open B string.
And the [E] fourth fret on the high E with the open B.
[F#]
[B] Start back over with the [A] A.
Now we're back to that G [G#m] sharp minor.
Now this time [D#] we're going to go down to an F sharp major [F#] bar chord.
All right, so [N] that's just the same as this up here.
Move down two frets and then play the third fret there on the G [F#] along with those other fingers.
So that's an F sharp major [G#] chord.
And then what we're going to do [B] is have this [A] little
[F#]
[E] Which takes us back to the beginning [B] of the verse again.
So we basically have
Now that's a
Basically, let me just show you the chords.
B major same chord, you're just playing it to the second fret.
Move it to seventh.
[A] Then fifth.
[G#m] Then that G sharp minor.
[F#]
And then we're actually going to [F#m] go into an F sharp minor chord.
[Gm] So don't have the third fret there.
[F#] So we have this.
[F] We're basically going to play [B] this
You're going to play this B major, pick the low note, and then hit the top three strings
with an upstroke.
[A] And do that on [G#] all four of those [F#] chords.
[E] And you're back to the verse.
[C#m] [A] Which is more laid back.
[B]
[Em]
Alright, so it's a great tune.
Got some great chord progressions in [F#] it.
And it makes you kind of move around all over the place and play a lot of bar chord.
Hope you guys enjoyed it.
I'll see you again soon for GuitarLessons365.com.
