[Eb] [Abm] Hi, my name is Amanda Jensen.
I am 21 years old and I live in Stockholm, Sweden.
And I'm here to talk about my new album [Ab] called Happyland.
[B]
[Dbm] [Ab]
[B]
[Db] [Ab]
During [N] the making of Happyland I was very inspired by music from the 30s and 40s.
And I listened to a lot of Cab Calloway.
I'm going to play his hit song, Mini the Moocher.
I had a band with my father when I was about 16 years old.
And we called ourselves Amanda and the Papas, because they were Papas and [Em] I was Amanda.
We played sort of classics, you know, Beatles songs, old jazz songs, Ella Fitzgerald.
[B] [Db] [C] This is [Em] what it looks like.
I [Am] was really inspired by [B] that kind [Em] of gangster jazz that he was making.
Elegant, decadent, joyful and sad at the same time.
You can find [Eb] it all on [Ab] YouTube.
[Fm] [Db]
Never wider [Ab] than a mile,
[Db] I'm crossing [Ab] you in style.
[Bbm] Someday,
[Gm] [Em] you [Fm] dream.
This is my favorite [Db] album [Ab] with Tom Waits.
It's called [Db] Rain Dogs.
It's amazing.
You should [Gb] all run out and buy [Fm] it immediately.
I especially like [G] his [Cm] rough songs, [Bbm] [Ab] where he kind of sounds like [Fm] the cookie monster.
I have [Gb] so many [Db] favorite songs on this album.
[Ab]
But I think I'm going to [Db] play Tangled Till They [Ab] Soar.
[Bb] My album [Fm] [Cm] doesn't really sound like Tom Waits, but [Bbm] I still listen [C] a lot to [Db] this record when I was [C] making it.
[Fm] The way he [C] puts the [Fm] instruments together and [C]
the melodies and the lyrics, [Gb] it's so [Ab] unpredictable, but still so [C]
[D] perfect.
When you hear [E] it, it all makes [Bb] sense.
[Fm] And I love that.
I [Bbm] like Tangled Till They Soar.
[G] [N] Besides that kind of gangster jazz that I was telling you about, I also like to write songs that sound like theme songs from old movies that were never made.
So I'm going [Gb] to play a song called The End.
[Ebm] I [Bbm] recorded the album in [Dbm] a fantastic studio [Ab] in Stockholm called [Eb] Atlantis.
The first time I [Gb] stepped into it, I [Dbm] felt as if it was [Gb] a church of music.
[Eb] Almost sacred in a way, because so [Bbm] much important music had [Dbm] come out of it.
Like [Gb] Abba recorded there.
[F] And also Elvis Costello.
I [Bb] heard that Lenny Kravitz [Db] even wanted to buy the [Gb] studio and move it to the States, but [Db] he couldn't.

And I'm really looking forward to it.
It's going to be great to see how the record takes form live.
And also [Ebm] how the record takes form outside of the borders of [Ab] Sweden.
[Ebm] So [Abm] I hope to see you soon.
Take care.
