Chords for Andra Day - Gin & Juice (Let Go My Hand) [Live Acoustic Video]

Gin and Juice is [Dm] a very interesting song.
It's just really about [Dbm] whether it's in a relationship
or whether it's that [Gb] thing or that issue that you just can't let go of.
So it's sort of talking about certain habits or vices
that you want to get rid of, but you can't.
When I think about the song, when I was writing it,
I thought about there's something in the Bible that says
that thing that I want to do, [Eb] I do not do,
and that thing that I do not want to do, I always end up doing.
So I thought [D] about that, and I wrote that with Rafael Sadiq,
and he came up with the Let Go of My Hand, Boy, Let Go of My Hand.
[Gb] So I'm like, oh, let's make this thing a person,
because sometimes it is a person.
[D] And so it's just about telling that thing finally,
hey, let go of me, you don't have a hold on me anymore.
_ _ _ Mm-hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm _
[D] _ _ -hmm
I just _ _ _ _ _ me
I have my dark
_ _ _ I went through death
And just
_ _ I look in
To myself that I bought
_ _ The yellow scraping behind your eyes
_ _ _ And so You _ _ _ _ know
I could say I learned a lot
_ _ _ Maybe, maybe better me than yellow But still
Why did I get caught?
Don't hold my hand
_ _ _ _ _ Don't hold my hand
_ _ _ _ _ Let go of my hand, boy
_ Let it go
Don't hold my hand
_ _ _ In _ _
[Bb] _ my ear
[G] I hear you whisper [Bb] love
Twanging your [G] fingers
To excite me
[Bb] _ Cause you know you might
[E] Leave _ [D] me
_ _ _ A fiery light
_ _ _ We broke out
So _ many times I end up on
On the pavement _
_ Alone, alone
I'm crying out
Don't hold my hand _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ Let go of my hand _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
