How's it going everyone, Kalei Gamial here at the Ukulele site.
Right now we're going to be doing some string comparison with the famous Aquila strings.
And this one right here that I have on this ukulele is your standard supernalgut strings
that come on most of the ukuleles that you see in stores.
Kala strings them up a lot with these types of strings.
So I'll just give you a little sound sample and you can compare which string sets and
the differences as we go along throughout this video.

In this one we have this ukulele strung up with the long awaited sugar set.
And this is the first time that I've actually got to play with these strings.
[B] But we're going to leave it up to you to see how you guys like it.

[Ab] This is a high G [C] tenor set.
[Am] Let's [G] give it a little sound sample.

And it's a tenor high G set.
Let's see how it sounds.

Well this is the sound that everyone is used to [N] hearing.
But in my opinion I like the sugar and the lava out of the four.
I think the red one is a little too gritty for me.
The sugar is in between a didario and a warth type of string.
And then the lava, even though it's supposed to be a black version of these, it feels and
sounds different in my opinion.
I don't know, maybe it's the color that's causing me to think I'm hearing something different.
I think they even feel a little different.
Yeah they do.
I think it's a bit more comfortable in my opinion.
More natural.
[B]
A little bit more balanced maybe.
More balanced?
I hear more mid range.
These, the C and E can be a bit punchy at certain frequencies.
Yeah it can.
And then the A kind of like
Yeah it drops out a little bit.
And this is, the lavas to me seem like a little bit more clear.
Yeah, like even sound.
Very balanced.
