Hi everybody, welcome back to Mando Lessons.
In this week's lesson we're going to do a little play along jam with the tune
Arkansas Traveler.
It's a classic old-time tune in the key of D.
It also gets played in some bluegrass sessions.
The way this is going to work is we're going to go back and forth.
I'll start out by playing the melody,
then I'll play the chords, then I'll play the melody, then I'll play the chords, and while I'm playing the melody you can play the
chords, and while I'm playing the chords you can play the melody.
We'll end the fifth time both playing the melody together and
just have a lot of fun with it.
This is a great way to work on improvisation or
double stops if you're already familiar with the tune, and if you're just getting used to the tune,
and there's a lesson on my website mandolessons.com where you can learn the tune by ear or with the tablature and sheet music as well
as find the chords over there, and if you're just getting used to the tune, it's a great way to play along with someone and
have a little more fun than just playing it yourself.
I'll play along at a nice moderate tempo,
but if you want it to go slower or faster you can click the gear icon in the bottom right hand corner of this video and
change the speed to 75 or 50% speed or even go up to 125, 150%.
Again, if you want to learn this tune, there's lots of lessons over at mandolessons.com as well as here on the YouTube channel.
Don't forget to subscribe and click the notification bell to get updates whenever new lessons come out.
I do put out new lessons every week for free.
That said, there's a couple ways to donate on the website if that's so you're choosing.
For now, let's jump right back in to Arkansas Traveler and get playing.
All right, here we go.
We have Arkansas Traveler in the key of D.
I'll give a couple potatoes and jump in.

which there's lessons for over there.
Things like that.
Always new stuff to explore over there and here on the website.
So again, subscribe if you haven't already and I'll see you in the next one.
