How [B] long have you been [Ebm] coming to Club 66?
[Eb]
[Db] It is [B] hard to [Gb] remember when I first came here because
[Gb]
[B] not because of the different appearance and [Ebm] the place looks great.
[Gb]
Excuse me.
[Db] [B] Water went down the wrong way.
[Ebm] [Gb] I love this place.
I love [Eb] fireplaces.
[B] David's whole [Ebm] aura here [Gb] with the [Db] fireplace and [Eb] the rafters.
[B] When [Eb] was this place built?
[Ab] 1928.
The way the front end is concave and it's got [Ebm] style.
[Bbm] It's got [Ab] character.
[Ebm] I just love this place.
It's a rock club and there's not [B] many places.
[F] Every town you go [Eb] to there's at least one place that still tries to support live music.
[Ebm] [B] A place like this, [Ebm] I love it [Abm] because I'm a rocker.
[Bb] I'm [Abm] 62 years old.
I do [Eb] dye my beard.
Half of my beard is silver, [E] white, half [Eb] is not.
I look [Abm] like a skunk.
I go ahead and dye the whole thing.
[Ebm] I'm 62.
[B] I [Eb] still drive 20 hours, [B]
set up my drums, play 2 hours of Skynard music,
[Abm] and [B] love it [Bb] and drive until [Ab] I drop.
[B] To [Eb] have a place like this, [Db] [Eb] what these guys are playing, they're great out there.
Rocking to the free world.
[Bb] Right on, man.
[B] Club 66, [Ebm] plus it's got that [Abm] Club 66, like Route [Ebm] 66, plus the place is all about [Db] cars.
[Abm] And the old [Eb] school.
[B] [Ebm] Then you put all that [Eb] together with the [Abm] people.
[Eb]
I [Ebm] think he'll be here.
How long has he been here?
25 [Abm] years.
He'll be [Ebm] here that many more.
[Abm] I'm going to play drums until I'm [Gb] 100.
Awesome.
[Dbm] [Ab] That's such an [B] awesome thing to hear.
I [Eb] will.
I'm 62 now.
I [Gb] love playing.
I play like I'm 20.
[Db] The thing is, [B] when I'm 100, I'm probably going to switch [Eb] to stand-up comedy.
[Gb]
[Db] And do that for about 5 or 10 years.
Can I tell you that [B] one of the favorite [Eb] albums that I still have on [Gb] vinyl this day
[Db]
is One [B] From The Road.
And just you [Eb] on drums in the background, [Ab] holding all the drumsticks.
That is so cool, that picture on that album.
Do you want to hear the story on that?
The photographer spread some beer cans on [Db] the
[Ebm] stage.
And he said, I want it to look like after a [Eb] Skinner show.
[B] [Eb] And I went back and got a bundle of sticks because [B] during the show, [Ebm] I go through so many sticks.
[Eb] And [B] I said, [Ebm]
wait a minute.
And I went back and got a bundle.
And one second [Ebm] after he took that picture, I threw the whole [B] bundle under the [Ebm] stage.
But they [Abm] decided to use that one.
I kind of [Eb] like it.
It's kind of cool.
That was a cool [Ebm] picture.
That's a good album too, man.
[Eb] That's like one of the all-time classics.
You [Ab] know, my youngest [B] son, I mean my oldest son [Ebm]
at the time was like 5, 4.
[F] He's on that album.
[Gm] Oh, really?
[Abm] He's in between [Eb] Ronnie's legs.
We're standing for the picture.
And Ronnie Van Zandt, who's today is [C] his birthday.
Happy birthday.
Oh, yes, exactly.
[N] Thank you very much for reminding us about that too.
Happy birthday, Ronnie.
Happy birthday, Ronnie.
I was older than Ronnie, but [Ab] I [C] love Ronnie.
And anyway, [F] Ronnie's standing there with a shirt on in the middle of the Fox Theater stage in Atlanta, Georgia.
And it says, [Em] The Kid, there's a lightning bolt.
And it's [Abm] pointing directly at my son.
And [B] that poster went all over the world.
Right on, dude.
