[Gm] [C] The [D] title [F] of the album is
[D] Dear Dies, [Gm] Every Day I Think Of [F] You
[C] I'm extremely happy [F] and grateful
[D] for the opportunity to [Dm] do such [C] a tribute to my [Fm] hero, my mentor.
He [F] really helped [Fm] me very, very, [Bbm] very much [Bb] since we met.
After [F] that, I [C] feel like [Gb] anything [Fm] I did, [Gm] music-wise, [Abm] he was involved.
[G] He was [C] behind there, encouraging me.
[D] This is a really [F] high-energy,
[D] incredibly technical, technically [C] difficult [D] album
[G] that celebrates Dizzy.
This [B] is the Arturo that people have [C] come to know and love.
[F]
[Bb] Zombita, zombita!
[G] Zombita!

[G] [B] [D] [Eb]

[C] [Bb] [C]
[Dm] [Bb] What really made [Eb] the big difference over here is [Abm] the arrangement.
[Bb] [Ab] All of them, they're very, [Bb] very special arrangements.
Which [D] really, not only for me, [Gb] also from the arranger,
[Bbm]
it's a very [Fm] fine and beautiful tribute [Bbm] to Dizzy and his music.
[Fm] What Arturo and I talked about is we didn't want to do arrangements,
[G] have arrangements written that would be anywhere near the original.
[E] So, to keep it fresh.
And we invited Gordon Goodwin, Dan Higgins, Chris Walden,
[Abm] who was Wally Minkow, [E] but these are [Dbm] all Grammy-winning [E] arrangers.

One of the other arrangements [Gb] that I think is Arturo's favorite track
on the whole [Cm] record is a tune called Burke's Works.
[Bb] Dizzy's middle name [Cm] was Burke.
We asked [D] Plaz Johnson, [C] who is a name [Bbm] that may not be as well-known to the public,
[Ebm] but he probably [Ab] played the most famous [D] saxophone solo in history.
[Cm] He's the original [C] saxophone player on Henry Mancini's Pink Panther.
So we asked Shelley Berg to [A] arrange Burke's [Ab] Works a la Mancini.
And [Eb] it's Plaz and Dan [G] Higgins playing [Cm] alto flute
and Arturo playing harmon trumpet.
[F] Very reminiscent of [Ab] the Pink Panther in the way we [C] created the arrangement.
[Gm] [Cm]
That's [C] pretty amazing.

[D] [C] [Gm] [Bb]
[Eb] [F] [Eb]

[Fm]
We have an honor [F] and a privilege [Ab] to [B] have a group of special musicians
play in the record and [Ebm] also special guests.
It's like a luxury to have all those people [G] in one record.
But besides [Abm] that, we've got [B] Gary Burton [Ebm] on the vibraphone,
we've [Bb] got Shelley Berg on piano, [G] we've got Joey [F] DeFrancesco,
we've got [Bb] Bud [Gbm] Mincer, Bud [E] Shepard, [Fm]
[G] Chuck Verhoeffer on the bass,
and [Eb] the whole band [Abm] is a group of [Gb] amazing musicians.
[Fm]
Arturo wrote [Bbm] this love letter.
He wrote the music and the lyrics.
And it [Gb] closes the record.
[Bb] [C]
[F] It's called Every Day I Think of You.
And he clearly does.
It's a sweet little [Ab] song that's sort of an epilogue on the record.
It's the encore of the record.
[G] [Gm] And that's exactly why we called it.
It's a [F] very sentimental title, but that's [Cm] ultimately what this album is.
It's a love [F] letter to Dizzy from Arturo.
And [Gm] the result, the final, and the record came out so good,
[Cm] and [Fm] I couldn't be more [Bbm] happy.
