As I Lay Dying - The Powerless Rise - Studio Clip #1 chords
Start Jamming...
Yeah!
We will be your sauce!
See you in a few days!
Yeah!
This record almost [C] killed me.
[B]
[N]
[Em] I'm just kidding.
It's been pretty [N] awesome, pretty chill actually.
We're here in the hallway of a vocal studio that I'm building.
I started building it particularly just for this recording because we always end up with this kind of tension
between putting priority on guitars and then making sure that we have priority on vocals.
So this way having two different studios we can knock two things out at the same time.
It's been really productive.
You know we have a team of really talented guys that are working in both places.
Hey!
Talented whether they'll admit it or not.
And then sometimes they switch, you know, working on guitars to come over here and vocals.
That way I always have kind of two perspectives at the same time which has really been helpful as well.
Reach out your hands!
Self-love forgiveness!
Only to find
It's really awkward to hear yourself soloed out this much.
You're all the same!
We are not the same as I have to show!
You're all the same!
Let me do one more.
You're all the same!
We are not the same as I have to show!
Yeah.
One more.
You're all the same!
We are not the same as I have to show!
Are they all the same?
Ha ha ha.
That sounded pretty good by itself.
I'm working on a song called Vacancy.
I'm having a hard time getting some of the vocals quicker wording to actually understand what I say.
So that's one of the things we're focusing on this record is being able to really kind of hear what I'm saying a little bit better.
We are
I started off too howly.
We are
We [Ab] are
Yes!
Get on!
Earlier today I did vocals for this whole song and then we took lunch to kind of clear our heads.
And then after lunch we come back and kind of touch up all the things that we think could be better.
Especially because it gives my voice like an hour break before I start screaming again.
Too oppressed we cannot escape!
Sometimes we need to get one word.
If I want to replace that I have to kind of sing the whole line so that it sounds natural when we interject that one word in there.
So that last time I was just going for the one word cannot but I sang everything before and after it.
We cannot escape!
[A] Oh!
[Db]
We can!
[A] [E]
We also have a tendency to add in little like extra background screams and stuff after we've listened to it.
[Ab] And try to kind of fill the space and stuff.
Here it goes.
[Db] We [Ab] are
The clean [Gb] vocals are a lot more in [N] depth.
They were thought out a lot more because the last record it was kind of
I showed up and they had some melodies already and I just had four days to go and do everything.
And this time I probably spent at least two weeks on the vocals.
Making sure the takes are a lot better than the last record.
And I think you'll definitely be able to tell right away because it's seriously mind-blowingly better.
The iPhones!
Quick and easy.
That was my last vocal on the entire record.
[Bb] We're in the business!
[N]
