Howdy it's [N] Bergs, you probably knew that.
This is the Atomic CLR.
It is a 500 watt
bi-amped reference monitor and it has the flattest truest response out of all
of the reference monitors that I've tried which is why I use it in this
little studio of mine to calibrate stage sounds for my XFX or even the Boss GT
100.
You could use it for your Line 6 modelers or your Kemper or you
know any of those sorts of things where you may need a faithful and reliable
full reference monitor.
So these guys have just released the Atomic Amplifier
as well the pedal, a modeling pedal which I'll be reviewing later but I wanted to
talk about this.
I know that Pete Thorn has already covered this back in 2013
but I thought I've got to show people this because what I'm using to calibrate
sounds.
The sounds you were just listening to were basically a Dirty
Shirley emulation from the XFX firmware 18 and this of course is a Music Man
AXS.
The features of the CLR are worth talking about.
Firstly you've got 500
watts.
It's like a coax speaker type of situation where there's a 12 inch
driver and a high compression 1 inch driver.
500 watts is a lot of power.
This
thing is loud.
It weighs about 20 K's.
This is the active version too by the
way.
There are about four different versions you can pick and choose.
Have a
look at the website.
I like this one the active version.
Two speak on inputs which
lets you put in quarter inch jacks or XLRs both with separate volume
controls.
There's a master volume control.
There's a sub control so you can roll
it off at about 120 Hertz.
You know if you don't want those subs which I've
actually done here because this is a condenser mic it's picking up extra bass.
It's the best mic I've got to try and convey the sound at the moment.
I know it's
very hard to sound to convey the sound of a full reference monitor to YouTube
which is why I'm talking about the features.
There's a link control and the
link control will let you feed front of house with either inputs 1, inputs 2 or
a blend of both.
So that's kind of handy as well if you're feeding say the AXE
effects into input 1 you can you know send it on then to front of house with
absolutely no adulteration at all.
So the preset switch.
If you're using the
Atomic Clear as like a free field thing on a stick you'll notice that there's a
hole on the side so you can mount it.
Then there's a DSP preset switch to
curve the EQ accordingly which means you can also use it in the tilt fashion
which is how I'm using it at the moment and there's also backline preset which
you stand it up like a guitar cab.
Now in all of those different ways you can use
it you know how you prefer but the preset switch will keep the sound
consistent which is very important.
The sub switch we've already mentioned master
control, two inputs and the link output.
Weighs about 20 kilograms.
Sounds the
best out of all the reference monitors that I've tried.
You know I can
highly recommend it.
That's a message from my phone excuse me.
So I don't know
what more to say except that if you're using a modeler and you're in a you know
an important situation or a professional situation where what your programming
needs to be you know have some kind of calibration device the Atomic CLR.

[Ab] I'm [D]
[Am] just doing that for fun.
It's a bit pointless me talking about the features
because of the sound rather or trying to demonstrate it because YouTube just
doesn't allow it.
You need to try one yourself.
If you can do so, do so.
If
you're in Australia check out independent music site because Andrew up
there in a sunny Brisbane which I'll be visiting this weekend has got hold of a
bit of stock.
Everywhere else visit the Atomic site and I'll see you soon.
Thanks for watching.
Bye.
