So, [Dm] a little miracle of [F#] miracles, in spite of my nerdy past, I did get married about
a month [B] ago.
It's possible for anyone.
And because in honor, I guess, of my recent wedding, I'd love to sing you a couple of love songs.
I'm going to wipe my glasses off because they're dusty.
[N]
What are our stops?
[B] So, I got married a month ago and the road to marriage was a tough one for me because
I had all kinds [G] of commitment issues and all the things [C#] that come with waiting until you're almost 30.
Because [E] you have all your own habits and ways you like doing things.
And so, love has been a real learning [D] experience for me.
And it really has taught me a lot about the love of God because once you're kind of bound
to someone by a covenant, [C#] you know, there's just no, [B] there's just no, love is a choice
that you make every day [E] in every situation, hopefully.
[G] And anyway, my husband loves to challenge me.
And I have a really strong personality, but he is a stronger one.
And so, [C#] he loves, he loves to, [F] he loves to [B] challenge me.
So, he called me out on something recently, which was that I kept saying how [G#] annoying
I thought it was when girl [B] singers were really, the word I kept using was cutesy.
Like, kind of like, you know, that kind of stuff.
Ugh, so annoying.
Ugh, ugh, ugh.
You know, I was constantly doing that whenever something like that would come along.
[G] And he finally said, you [D] know, I think you're, I think you're annoyed by it because you can't
write songs like that.
You, you don't know [G] how to write fun songs.
All your songs are serious.
And he's like, I think you're jealous.
And I said, [B] ugh, what?
No way.
And he's like, no, I mean, seriously, think about it.
I mean, [G] you've never written a fun song in your life.
There's just no way.
And, uh, and so I said, you know, I took it home, I thought about it.
This was when we were engaged still, and I thought about it.
And I said, yeah, he is so right.
And I was actually really grieved because I thought, I can't believe I'm 27 and I'm acting
like a 12 year old again.
And, you know, being competitive with women I don't even know.
And it was just a real, kind of a real illumination [C#] for me of some, [C#m] of some sin I didn't even notice.
But anyway, I [G] thought, well, I better try to write a song now because, um, I, so I
got kind [D] of close to it.
I wrote a song about how I'm not, I can't write songs that are fun.
[Em] And that's as close as I got.
This is called Until You Came Along.

[B] [F#]
[G#] [Bm] [C#m]
[B]
I've never been one to sing like a [E]
nightingale.
[F#] No, I've always got [F#] some blue [G#] notes to [B] tip my scale.
I'm sweet to set it, and I never [E] [Em] found my [C#m]
light.
No, [B] I've usually got another woman [E] to ride, [F#] ride.
Until you came [B] along, I was a half-written [E] song.
And [F#] my heart was beating slower [B] than ever.
I never thought that I could be this [F#] way.
Until you came along.
[Em]
[G#m]
[Bm] [F#] [B] Yeah.
[E] [F#]
You opened my heart [F#] up with your honesty.
[B] [F#] Yeah.
[B] Everything's brighter, more beautiful, you'll see.
Hey, you're a [E]
[B] wonderful [C#m] thing.
[F#]
[B] Oh, it's so simple, that's what I was missing.
Oh, yeah.
[F#] Until you came [B] along, I was a half-written [E] song.

Until you came along.
[E]
Yeah.
[E] Until you came [B] along.
[E] Here comes the [F#] attempt at a fun part.
[B] Oh, and it's OK to laugh about things sometimes.
[B]
It's OK to [C#m] be a little silly once in [E] a while.
Oh, [F#] yeah.
[C#m]
26 [E] without me.
[F#] [C#m] So many [B] others, all right.
[F#] Until you came along, [B]
I hurt [F#] me all you said.
[E]
[F#] And my pain was moving slower [G#m] than ever.
[B] And I never thought [E] that I could be [F#] this way.
Until you came along.
