Hello, my name is Angelina and I'm in Lourdes, a [D] small town in [G#] the south of France.
Lourdes is [C] where over 150 years [D#] ago, Our Lady appeared to a young girl by the name of Bernadette Soubirous.
Our Lady entrusted [N] some very special messages with Bernadette.
These messages were a call to penance, the conversion of hearts, and a call for all Christians to pray the rosary.
There were 18 apparitions in all, but two of these were very important.
In the ninth apparition, there was a phenomenon of the miraculous spring.
Over the course of 150 years, thousands of the faithful have washed in its [G#m] waters to receive [A#] cures of physical [F] and spiritual ailments.
On the 16th apparition, young Bernadette felt compelled [N] to ask Our Lady her name.
She asked her three times, and finally Our Lady replied on the third time.
And this is an account from Bernadette.
At the third request, the Lady's face became very serious, and she seemed to bow down [F] in an attitude of humility.
[E] Then she joined her hands and raised them to her breast.
She looked [N] up to heaven, then slowly opening her hands and leaning forward toward me with a vibrating tone to her voice,
said with emotion, I am the Immaculate Conception.
Another important fact about the apparitions of lords [D] is that this was the first time that Our Lady appeared with a rosary in her hand and was praying.
This led Bernadette to pray the rosary before and after each apparition.
The rosary has sometimes been compared to a song, Our Lady's song.
Though we may not be following it consciously, the [G] melody and rhythm always bring us back to the thoughts of Our Lord and Our Lady.
I'm inviting you to come and join me as I walk the footsteps of St.
Bernadette in Lourdes and pay homage to Our Lady through song, through Schubert's Ave Maria.
