[A] [B] [E] [Gbm]
[D] [N] That was Avril Lavigne smash my happy ending from her hit CD Under My Skin but it looks
like this 19 year old multi-platinum sensation is [D] just getting started.
Please welcome Avril Lavigne.

16 you're 19 now but 16 years old when it [Dm] all started and you have said that success
[F] came too fast.
Not too [N] fast but fast.
It happened it was really you know it worked out pretty smoothly for me.
It's my first trip to New York and I didn't really from Nathanie in Canada a little small
town and LA Reid basically signed me my first [F] trip to New York my first move that I [N] actually
made and I didn't have to go through the making the demo process and handing it out to different
labels and shopping around so I was very fortunate.
Yeah that's really cool.
That doesn't usually happen.
You didn't have to go on American Idol which is a blessing.
Would you have gone on there?
I don't know if I would have or not I'm going to be kind of glad I didn't because I think
it's probably more difficult for them you know with the creative process.
You know but now okay a lot of people a lot of your songs first of all are about some
past troubled relationships you talk a lot about that.
What do you say to people who think she's only 19 how could she have all this to write
about and sing about?
Well I'm a teenager so you know we're extremely emotional we go through a lot.
What problems are you going through right now that you write about?
I don't have any problems now.
It's all good.
It's all good I'll have to get back to you.
You have a lot of happy songs coming out.
Well I know that when you're on the road I've heard that you and your bandmates like to
play practical jokes.
What kinds of [Db] things do you do?
Well when we were in London one time at a [N] hotel I got the keys to a couple of the guys
rooms and got a bucket of ice you know the buckets in the rooms and put some water in
it and opened it and went into my drummer's room and basically poured it on him when he was sleeping.
That's not nice.
I couldn't imagine you doing something like that.
Are you resentful when people say oh you know they refer to you as punk or rebel?
I'm not punk that's like a whole other world you know I'm a pop rock artist.
And that's what you do best.
Do you think it's really cool when I mean you got known also for that your complicated
necktie whole outfit and then a lot of your fans started emulating that.
Do you find that really flattering?
I would imagine it would be.
Yeah I thought it was pretty awesome you know and when I play a bunch of different festivals
with other artists I could always pick my fans out and be like oh you dress like me.
Would you rather talk or sing?
Would I rather talk or sing?
Sing.
I thought so.
Okay let's hear some music.
Here to sing Nobody's Home off her hit CD Under My Skin Avril Lavigne.
Well I
[C] [F]
[Eb]
[Db] [Fm]
couldn't [Eb] tell you why she [Db] felt that way.
She felt it every [Fm]
day.
And I couldn't [Eb] help her.
I just watched her make the same mistakes [Fm] again.
What's wrong what's wrong [Eb] now?
Too many too many problems.
[Db]
Don't know where she belongs.
Where she [Fm] belongs.
She wants to [Ab] go home but [Eb] nobody's home.
That's where she lies.
Broken inside [Fm]
with no place [Ab] to go.
No place [Eb] to go.
Dry her eyes.
Broken [Fm] inside.
Open [Eb] your eyes.
[Db] And look outside.
Find the reasons [Fm]
why.
You've been [Eb] rejected.
And [Db] now you can't find.
What you've left [Fm]
behind.
Be strong be strong [Eb] now.
Too many too many [Db] problems.
Don't know where she belongs.
Where she [Fm]
belongs.
She wants to [Ab] go home but [Eb] nobody's home.
That's where she lies.
Broken [Fm] inside with no place [Ab] to go.
No place [Eb] to go.
Dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
[Fm] And her feelings [Eb] she hides.
Her truth she [Db] can't find.
She's losing her mind.
She's falling [Fm] behind.
And she can't [Eb] find her place.
She's losing her [Db] faith.
She's falling from grace.
She's all over the place.
Yeah.
Oh.
[Fm] She wants [Ab] to go home but [Eb] nobody's home.
That's where she lies.
Broken [Fm] inside with no [Ab] place to go.
No [Eb] place to go.
Dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
[Fm] She's lost [Ab]
inside.
Lost [Eb] inside.
[Fm] She's lost [Ab] inside.
Lost [Eb] inside.
Yeah.
[Fm]
[N] I'm not surprised they signed the right-of-way in New York.
I think that Avril [F] Lavigne will be right back. That's right.
