[G] Parts of what Celtic means, [D] even though that's kind of a funny [N] word nowadays.
Scottish, Canadian, Irish.
But also, share with you the students and what they're doing here.
Kind of combine the professionals with the students.
Because hopefully one [Em] day they'll be doing that.
[N] It's a good experience for them to have that.
And we started this concert as an [B] Appalachian celebration.
How many of you have come over to the [E] Appalachian celebrations over the [D#] years?
Some of you.
Some of [E] you.
We [Cm] started [Gm] this with Butchbal Desari [B] and with David Schnaufer.
I think he was [N] maybe 95.
I should check my dates on that.
I was a young thing then and I moved here from Canada.
And got the experience to start teaching at Blair with both David and Butch.
And Butchbal Desari was an amazing man.
And he was the most versatile mandolin player I've ever met.
I thought, well, mandolin means bluegrass.
So that guy could play a little bit of everything.
He could play Bach.
He could play O'Carrollan Irish music.
He could play [F] anything you ask for.
Concertos.
And it was a real thrill to be able to work with him and David.
[Dm] And [D] sadly, [N] we lost both David, our dulcimer teacher, and Butch way [D#] too early.
And this is what kind of putting this concert on for them.
[G] So if you wouldn't mind sharing a little bit with the scholarship [G#m] fund that we've set up for them
and the dulcimer students, the mandolin [Gm] dulcimer students, today when you're in their intermission,
that would be great.
And I'll show you where it's going.
It's going to kids like this.
We're [C] going to bring on this young man.
[D] He's going to [N] play a little tune for you on his mandolin.
He was one of the recipients of the Butch Baldessari scholarship.
Put your hands together for Antonio Dotson.
