In between chord stabs Jake hits the pedal to the metal with precision picking.
First thing is use [F#] proper picking mechanics.
You want to hold the pick on the side of your index finger bottom of your thumb
and use a 45 degree angle towards the floor when you pick to reduce tension and friction with the
string.
Try working your [D] picking speed up gradually [G#] and evenly from a slow [E] tempo.

_ _ _ _ Also just practice going for broke. _ _ _ _ _ _

With the fretting hand try to keep the thumb in the middle of the back of the neck so that
your hand can open up and stretch around there.
And try removing the picking to just
practice the chord [E] transitions.
