[F] Hey guys, my name is Anita.
[D] Some of you may know me as Anita underscore Foyo on Instagram.
And I am the creator of the channel Girls Who Shuffle, which is a sister [F] channel with
Thank Joys Girls That [C] Shuffle.
What what?
What I've been wanting to do for the longest time, and I'm finally starting now, is [D] a tutorial [Am] series.
Because I want this to be a place where people can all come and watch some high quality shuffle tutorial videos.
So today [F] we're going to be kicking off the tutorial series with a little series I like to call
The Big Thing for Shuffling.
With that, we're going to be covering the running man, the t-step, the glide, [Am] spin, and kicks.
Today in this video we're going to be focusing on the running man.
That is ultimately [N] the foundation of shuffling.
It's definitely hard to get because it's the first kind of [Eb] footwork that you're really getting your feet used to.
It does take a while [G] and I would say it probably takes the longest out of all the tricks you learn.
Simply because it's usually [Eb] your intro trick that you first kind [E] of get exposed to.
Don't be too scared, it'll be robotic, it's okay.
You really want to focus on the footwork.
And [B] over [E] time you can then focus on [Ebm] things like flow [E] and looking natural and [Gb] groovy.
Exhibit A.
[N] Me looking pretty robotic.
But fear not, looking robotic is totally okay.
It just shows you're focusing on the technical aspect of the footwork.
You can see in this video that although I was [C] keeping up with the BPM of the [Eb] song, there was still [F] definitely a stiffness in my movement.
[Cm] [Eb] [N]
Cool, let's start shuffling.
[E] We'll start slow.
Let's bring our right foot up and bend with our left foot on the ground.
Then we'll kick out our right foot down on the floor while kicking the left foot back at the same time.
Now we'll do the same thing on the other side.
We'll slide the right foot back while kicking the left foot up and bend.
And repeat on the other side.
We'll kick the left foot down on the floor while sliding the right foot back.
Then we'll kick the right foot up and bend while sliding the left foot back.
Keep repeating this movement slow and precisely.
[Bm] God nail the footwork first before moving to speed.
It feels rigid slowing down the footwork so much, but it's crucial to getting your feet used to the technique and the movement.
I don't want you to see it.
Once you start adapting to the technique, you can practice going a little faster, step by step, literally.
[E]
We'll try practicing different speeds together.
[G]
[Bb]
[C]
[D]
[E]
Whatever you do, don't stop practicing.
Getting the running man takes some time, but it's well worth it.
And let's be real.
Once you learn the running man, dancing will never be the same again.
[C]
And [Dbm] that is the tutorial for the [Ab] running man.
Let me know if you guys have any questions or suggestions.
I will [C] also make sure to have series out [Dbm] that are more [Ab] intermediate advanced.
So thank you guys [G] so much for watching the video.
[Ab] And I'll see you guys [Gb] next time on the basics of [N] shuffling series so we can work on the T-step.
