[C] [G] Alright, [N] Jimmy Hendrick, hey Joe, awesome song.
I am Thin Bar of Thin Bar Bass.
Okay, so what are those bass videos all about down when you click on the YouTube text box right there?
Well, bass playing is kind of a time of discovery, you know?
It's like an adventure.
You're learning new stuff all the time, you're increasing your chops, you're getting better, right?
So we need to practice bass and when we're practicing, you know, and learning all these
different techniques like through these videos, why not make it fun, right?
I mean that's great.
If you can actually get better on the bass, you know, and learn all these different songs
or techniques or whatever and, you know, and have fun doing it instead of just doing it
through, you know, repetitious, you know, study, then that's a fantastic thing and that's fun.
You're doing it through something that you love.
You're doing it through music and that makes it just so much easier to do and so much better.
So don't forget to click on the clicker box right down there in the YouTube text box.
I think it's really going to help you out.
All right, so this song is played with, I'm going to show you the basic riff basically
that this song goes off of this bass line and what happens is it kind of builds and
he ornaments it more and more and makes it more flourishy but I'll show you the basic one.
I'll show you how to mess with it a little bit and, you know, throw your own stuff in there.
Just make it yours.
So anyway, the way it's going to start you're on the 3rd fret of the A string and
then 3rd fret of the E string right there and then you're going to be on the second
fret and then 3rd fret of the A.
So you [C] got [Dm]
right, then you're on the 5th fret of the A string and [A] then hit [N] the 5th
fret of the E string.
So see, first you're on the 3rd and you're on the 5th and then you're going to go five,
six and then you're on the seventh fret of the A string [D] so you go [A] [Dm] and [Am] [E]
then
you're gonna hang on that seventh fret for a while and what you do there is
kind of up to you but you know but you can hit just basically real simple let
the seventh fret ring out
[D] [N] and then that sounds cool he does that a bunch of
times you're gonna be on the seventh fret of the E and then fifth fret of the
A alternating so if I played that real simply without too much ornamentation
[E]
[Am]
[E]
you're back on that seventh fret right there mix it up a little bit
[C]
[E]
[C] and then
you're back to that third fret it kind of spins around like [N] that goes back
around and repeats so different things you could do and sometimes don't play
the notes together play more staccato see it breaks it up [E]
put some ghost notes
in there and
[Dm]
[E] here when you're on the seventh fret later on in the in the song
play that you know [G#] as fast as you want [G] you [D]
[C] [E]
[C]
[Gm] [A]
[E]
[C]
[E] know mix it up [F] [F#] [C]
[E]
so what that is right
there you're hitting the third fret of the A right open E then very simple
you're going to go [F#] chromatically one two three [Em]
right third fret open E one two
three and
[N] now you're going you're on the A string very simple two three four five
[C] what could be more simple than that right [E] so you got it [F] [N]
and then guess what
you repeat that on the E string this is so simple it's awesome right so and then
you're gonna start on the fourth fret of the A [E]
and you're back to that seven
that magical seventh fret of the A string so I'll play that all slow
[N]
all
[F#]
[E] [C#] right you got it hey Joe fantastic song super super fun to play don't
forget click on the little clicker box right down there the YouTube text [A] box
and then I'll give you [Dm] some free videos that are not on YouTube other than [D#] that
