[Am] [F]
[C] [G] What's up my piano friends?
Zach Evans here and today I'm gonna teach you
[Am] some absolutely beautiful arpeggio patterns
[C] that even a complete beginner could play [Am] very easily.
This is something you [C] can use to impress your friends
and family [A] or church or wherever you wanna [C] play it.
Make sure you stick around to the end for a [A] simple trick
to get these sounding smooth and [F] even
and effortless on the keys.
All right, [Am] I'm ready to go.
Let's get started.
[C]
All right, so our first chord is a simple C major chord.
So we're gonna put our left hand on C, E, and G.
Same thing with our right hand, C, E, and G.
And we're simply gonna play [N] these notes
going up the keyboard.
[C] So C, [Em] E, G, [C] C, E, G, and repeat.
C, [G] E, [C] G, C, E, G.
And once you get this sped up, it's gonna sound like this.
Already sounds good, but now let's add the second chord.
Now it's gonna be the exact same as our C major chord,
except this top note, we're gonna move it [Am] up one note
to this A.
So now it sounds like this.
And repeat.
Then for our third chord, looks the exact same
as our second chord, except this middle note,
we're gonna move [F] up to F.
And again, we play this going up twice.
[C] So, [F]
[C] and repeat.
[F] [Am] And finally, we [A] go back to our original C chord
one [C] last time and play this twice as well.
And repeat.
We basically just play each chord going up twice.
Once it's sped up, the whole thing sounds like this.
[Am] [F] [C]
[A] Remember, if your sound's kind [G] of choppy and sloppy,
or you're having trouble [A] getting it to full speed,
[C] stick around to the end for the four step [N] process
to get smooth, even, confident playing.
But first, let me [A] show you a couple cool but simple ways
[C] to really add some sparkle to this pattern
[A] very easily with very [F#] little extra practice on your part.
Things that'll really make your friends and family
turn their heads and be like,
whoa, [N] how are you playing like this already?
So first up, we can play this pattern
on any C on the keyboard, [C] right?
So we can go to this C and this C
and play the exact same pattern.
[Am] [F] [C]
Or this C and this C,
[Am] and it sounds cool in a different way.
[G] We can also play this on any G on the whole keyboard, right?
So we can take our [C] chord and simply shift it to a G,
play the exact same thing and it still sounds good.
[Em]
[C] [G]
Or if you want a darker, more ominous sound for composition,
you can start on an A or [C] an E, right?
So if we take our chord and simply [Am] shift it to an A,
sounds like this.
[F]
[Dm] [Am]
Same thing if we shift [Em] it to an E.
[C] [Am] [Em]
[N] So now you have a ton of different colors
[G] to create your own [A] composition, but check this [C] out.
We can actually add a simple [Am] crossover to this pattern
that will make people think you're an absolute [A] pro
on the keys, but it's actually not that hard to play.
It just looks super impressive.
But before I [C] teach you that,
[G] if you're getting a lot of this video,
hit that [A] subscribe button
and hit the bell to get notifications.
I'd hate for you to miss out on any future videos
that [Cm] could really skyrocket your piano playing.
[Dm] [G] All right, so this next move is the move
that really, really impresses people on the keys,
but it's not that hard to learn.
All you do [C] is as we're playing our C chord,
and as we're going up,
we're gonna cross our left hand over our right hand
and hit this top C.
Here's what it sounds like.
Cross, hit this top C, and then go back down.
One more time, we're going up,
cross, hit this C, and go back down.
We can do the same thing with any of our other chords.
So we're always gonna [Am] hit this top C.
So we could take our second chord
and again do the crossover,
[F] or our third chord and [C] same thing, do the crossover.
[F]
So altogether with the crossovers,
here's what it's [C] gonna sound like.
[Am]
[F]
[C]
[F] Trust me, you could learn this thing in less [G] than a week easy
and [A] people will be impressed.
And if you [C] like how this [B] sounds,
let me know by hitting [A] that like button now.
But the only catch is,
this [Gm] only sounds good if it's [C] smooth.
The biggest mistake beginners make
is they learn all the notes that I'm teaching,
but it sounds kind of sloppy and choppy like this.
It's actually [A] pretty easy to get that smooth, even [C] playing
using a four-step [Am] process called the steam iron method
that's [G] specifically designed to [A] transform
that sloppy, choppy playing
into that smooth, even tone on the keys.
It's a bit too long for this video,
but I'll put the link to that video [E] here.
By the way, we call it the steam iron method
because just like a steam iron gets the bumps
and [F#] wrinkles out of your clothes,
the steam iron method gets the bumps and [Am] wrinkles
out of your piano playing
to help you sound smooth and confident.
