I know [F] that those of you seeing me for the first time
perhaps have gathered by [N] now that I'm an acro-born idiot.
But what you see is what you get with me, you know.
And I'm a
[F] [Bbm] [F] You know, I think, when it comes down to it,
I think that's why Adam Harvey and [Abm] I get along so well.
[D] His wife kind of calls us the male and female version of each other.
And [F]
everything about Adam Harvey is completely genuine.
And I appreciate that this is the third time that we've been able to tour Natalie together
because he's [N] my hero.
He's just an amazing singer.
He puts his heart and soul into his work.
And to get [Ab] to sit on the side of the stage and watch him every night,
even at night, [N] I do absolutely love it.
And to get to [Cm] still be doing this [E] at my age, at 31, I LAUGHTER
[A] Anyway, [F] [Abm] all right, there's a few years more than that.
[F] I'm a 72 baby.
Adam's two years younger than me
and he wants to tour [D] with an old [A] bird.
He could tour with any of those young ones, but he wants to tour with an [Abm] old bird.
I'm very pleased and privileged [F] that he wants to still.
Anyway, I want to sing a song [B] that's from my heart.
I know I act like an idiot most of the time,
but this is my [N] dream to be doing this ever since I was a little girl
with two balloons down my front pretending to be Dolly.
And [F] in December of this year,
I [Cm] took my band back to the Middle East to [Gbm] entertain the truth again.
Sorry, December [Ab] of 2010.
And [N] I met some more.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Good evening.
Thank you.
This was my fourth tour of duty that I've done as [Db] an entertainer.
And to go to areas like Egypt and Dubai where [Ab] we have bases
and amazing Australians doing [Dm] incredible jobs
is a thrill for me and to get to put [Ab] on some entertainment.
I took my band.
I also took a fellow by the name of Luz Dickens,
who I'm very proud of, just one [F] star maker.
We took him with us as well.
[N] And I sang this song in a hangar.
The last time I sang this song was in a hangar in Dubai
as a bunch of young Australians, some as young as 18.
Forgive me if I get teary.
We're about [Eb] to go to Afghanistan the next day.
[F] And gosh, it was emotional.
So if we spare a moment in this song to think about them,
especially their mothers.
I mean, my little fellow, he's only about to start high school,
but when I receive letters and Facebook messages from mothers saying,
if you see my son, can you give him a hug before he goes on the front line?
You won't listen to my songs anymore.
You ripped my poster off the wall.
Because I'm the second that went through the wall.
You see no good in me at all.
Well, pardon me if I [Bb] believe that I'm not [F] at wrong.
And before you turn your back on me, [Bb] I'll sing [Dm] you one [C] more song.
[F] Because I shook hands with a digger [C] on the wrong side of the world
[D] With a wife at home who [Dm] holds her [Bb] breath and brand new baby [F] girl
And the digger fights her fear [C] in a job that must be done
[D] And I let go of his hand [Dm] so proud to be [F] Australian
[Am] And if I'm like you, feel no [Dm] pride at all
[F] [Am] Then go ahead and take [D] me off your [F] wall
Because [Dm] I prefer to be [C] a poster girl on the wrong [F] side of your wall
And I'm just a girl who sings the crazy songs
Not qualified to sing judge
I've been right and I know I've been wrong
But I'm for peace and I'm for love
And [Dm] I admire the [F] burning [Bb] fire that causes you [F] to fight
[Dm] I only [F] wish the wrong side of the [Bb] world had [C] the same right
[F] Because I listened to the wisdom [C] of the Aussie Brigadier
[Am] He [Dm] spoke with old men of orphans [Bb] and the need to dry their [F] tears
And he leads the fighting field [C] in a job that must be done
[Dm] And I am more proud to say [Bb] that I'm Australian
[Am] And if I'm like me, feel no [Dm] pride at all
[F] Then [Am] go ahead and take me off [Dm] your wall
[F] Because I prefer to be a poster [C] girl on the wrong [Am] side of your [F] wall
And
[Dm] maybe I'm naive to think [Bb] we all could get [Dm] along
But sir, I read your words and all [Bb] I ask [F] is hear [C] my song
So [F] can we really get on the [C] wrong side of the world?
With [Dm] a wife who's on the hold of breath [Bb] and a brand new baby girl
[F] And the biggest fights are free [C] and a job that must be done
And [Dm] I've never been more proud to [Bb] say that I'm [F] Australian
[Am] And if I'm like me, feel no [Dm] pride at all
[F] [Am] Then go ahead and take me [Dm] off your wall
[F] Because [Bb] I prefer [F] to be a [C] poster girl on the [Am] wrong [F] side of your wall
[Bb] I'm so [F] proud to be a [C] poster girl on the wrong side of the [F] world
