[F#] [B] [N] Alright, BB King.
This is a very, very sweet bass line.
The thrill is gone.
Very, very easy to play.
You're going to learn it quick.
You're going to absolutely love it.
And you're just probably going to keep playing it over and over again.
Because it's very, very, like I said, it's very smooth and very sweet.
And it's just a very soulful, beautiful bass line when played with this song.
Anyway, I'm Thin Bar Bass.
Alright, so if you haven't clicked on the link right down there in the YouTube text
box, one of those links is going to bring you to some lessons that aren't on YouTube at all.
You can only get it by clicking that link right down there.

So somebody for everybody.
So if you haven't clicked on that, click on that.
Also down there, there is a link that will send you over to my Epic Beginner Bass DVD
set that I'm really excited about.
That's all complete.
It's up there. It's good.
So if you've, you know, you're very much a beginner on the bass.
You're going to love it.
If you've been playing for a while, there's some great stuff in there for you too.
So definitely check those out.
So the really cool thing about this bass line are the changes.
So we're going to pay attention to those.
And [B] let's get going.
So we're going to go,
[F#] [C] I'm going to play it a little bit faster just for the sake of the [A#] video.
But this is actually played really slow, you know, [B]
[C] and you know, without much ornamentation
really because it's just a solid, nice, awesome bluesy [B] bass line.
[F#] [B] And all you're doing there is you're alternating between the first fret and the second fret
of the A string and the first fret and second fret of the E string.
Very simple.
[D#] Just like that.
[F] [B] [F#] [D#] As I said, it's very slow.
[A#] You don't need to do much with it because it just sounds very cool.
Then in the first change, you got,
[F#] [E] right, what [F] I did there was when you're on the, [F#]
[D#] [E] so
you go to the second fret of the [D#] A string and then you're starting back in this situation.
You know, standard [D] blues 1 [C]-4 situation here.
You're going, [F] you were doing this before.
[B] You were doing this before.
[D#] Now you're just going to move it down the strings that way.
Right, just like that.
And now you're going to have to get back into where we were before.
So for that, we're going to go,
[B] see, and [A#] that's, we're back where we were before there in that first pattern.
So how you're going to get there is [B] you're going to go [A#] just normally like you would [E] from here.
[B]
So you're on the first fret and second fret of the A string and [D] then you're going to hit
open D, right, [D#] and then you're going to hit [C#] the fourth fret.
So you're descending here from the fourth fret of the A down to the second [B] fret.
[D#] So it sounds like this.
[E] [B]
Just like that.
[F#] Then you're back into this part again.
[B] [F#] But then something [B] really interesting happens.
This is a really cool change here.
You're going to go, [G] [G] right, so you're going to the third fret [C#] of the E string by way of
the second fret of the A, [A] open A.
[G] You can do that too.
You can hit the fifth fret of the E string, of course, but I'll teach it like second fret
of the [B] A string, [A] open A, [G] and then you're going to hit that third fret twice.
And that's a really important fret right there.
It's very nice.
It's a very nice change.
Right, very cool.
So you're going from that third fret, hit it twice.
You're going to hit the fifth fret of the A once and then the fifth fret of the D twice.
So really you're just basically plotting out that chord right there.
Those are octaves right there and that's a fifth.
But you don't have to know any of that stuff.
You just go, [F#] and [B] you're going to hit the fourth fret once, the fourth fret of the A once and
fourth fret of the D twice.
[G] So far we've got, [F#]
right?
And then [C#] you go hit the fourth fret of the A and then twice on the second fret [F#] of the
E.
[B]
And then you're back into that.
[A] Just like that.
What I'm doing [F#] there after the
[B]
[G#] So you've got very simple
[A] [C] Don't play [F#] that fast though.
You've got two hits on the second fret of the [A] E, two hits on the open [A#] A, two hits on
the first fret of the A,
[B] [N] and you're back into that situation again.
All right, B.B. King, yo!
You got that!
The thrill is gone.
What a good song.
Fantastic.
Very soulful, like I said.
